Via Chad Jennings:

Shelley Duncan was named MVP of the International League and Austin Jackson the Rookie of the Year.

Well-deserved in both cases. Congrats to those guys.

Awesome for them. Hope to see both of them with the big club starting tonight.

Would be great to give Austin Jackson a taste of the show.

Are these guys getting called up later?

    Last call for lineups

  4. Christina- Scranton outing! September 1st, 2009 at 3:38 pm

I would assume so Laura. No need for them (or room for them) right now and they are needed more for Scranton as they approach the playoffs.

    Congrats to them both.

Sad that Duncan is stuck in AAA ball. The Yanks don’t need a DH or 1st baseman, and he doesn’t seem to have the value that would make him an ingredient in a trade, so he just toils in triple-A. Hopefully he’ll land on the roster soon and can play a role as an extra bat and Teixiera backup.

Seems Shelly is the quintessential AAAA player. I hope he gets a shot and sticks somewhere. Seems like a good guy.

Definitely congrats to both of them. I’m sure we’ll see Shelley at the conclusion of the Triple A season. Scranton is going for a second straight title of the International League.

Are the Yankees really that down on Duncan, or will he get a shot next season? Will it depend on his September production?

Shelley Duncan MVP in AAA for next 10 years…Kei Igawa Best AAA Pitcher for next 20. None of them will do anything in the MLB anyways so who cares.
Austin Jackson on the other hand will be a star.

Spoken like the true fool that you are. Obviously you cared enough about Duncan and Igawa to respond to the post.

    Yawn…

The Mets need someone who can play outfield and hit home runs and won’t cost a lot of money. What about Duncan? Is there anyone in the Met system the Yanks would like?
