give the 1 PM game back to YES please!!!

or maybe NESPN is just starting to realize that the game will probably be meaningless :D

“And the Yanks are not going .500 over the last 30.”
======

Not unless they have a major injury, like to Teixeria or Mariano.

Then all bets are off.

---

They're not going .500 over the last 30 because of 1 injury

Still gotta love Pete's double standard regarding PEDs in baseball.

He rooted for Giambi when he was here and still does when he's somewhere else.

He rooted for Pettitte to get that perfect game last night and has always been a Pettitte supporter.

But A-Rod hits a game-winning homer earlier in the season and Pete pens a thread asking LoHuders if they feel slimy about cheering for A-Rod because he cheated.

Funny stuff. He hasn't ripped A-Rod lately, but he frequently reminded us of his misdeeds for a couple of months.

I guess it all boils down to whether you personally like the offender or not and we know how Pete feels about all three of these guys.

Yuck and poo by AJ today, but his teammates picked him up (ain't that great?). Lucky thing Camden Yards is so cozy.

Christine,

Just checked out your Scranton outing pix. Nice!

Just got back from the game sitting behind home plate. It was a great game to watch, altho I'll admit to preferring a blow out by the Yanks. AJ was all over the plate and the ump was no help. Watching AJ's pitches from behind the plate, you could really tell he was really overthrowing his fastball and didn't have much command tonight. Ironic that it was Posada to helped pick up him tonight. It was awesome to watch Mo out there. Still rubbing my head on why Hughes didn't make an appearance...

I think you are getting a but caught up the the Swisher for Betemit thing Pete. ChiSox would have moved him for a bucket of balls.

It was a salary dump for a guy who they only had a spot for at CF (a position he isn't very good at), hits for a low average, had more than $21M left on his contract (in a winter when $21M could have bought you Burrell and Abreu), and wasn't getting on well with their manager.

You know too much about baseball to keep harping on about this, or for that matter pressing the panic button on Burnett (who was unhittable for about 2 months) and has 4 or 5 more starts to get himself sorted out for the post-season.
