So was the Sept. 19th game originally a 11:10 pm start? Wow, good thing they pushed it back. There’s no way I’m going to watch a game that starts at 11 lol.

After this stretch of 17 straight games, they don’t play more than 6 consecutive the rest of the season. They should be nice and rested heading into the playoffs.

Let’s just hope they don’t get complacent and are able to carry some momentum from this crazy run they are on into October.

  3. ANKSY

    Andy was dealing last night.

    Just stating the obvious …

    ****

No, it was originally 9:05. They pushed it BACK an hout to 10. If it was originally 11, it would have been pushed UP an hour

“Sept. 27: Home against Boston. Now an ESPN 8:05 game.”

Should we get our Joe Morgan, Steve Phillips and Miller complaints out now or save them until game day? :P

“Greinke’s win total playing for the Royals is too depressed to win the Cy, imo.

Right now, I think it’s down to CC and Verlander”

Goes to the best pitcher. CC and Verlander are fighting fot 2nd with that being the case. Greinke should be considered ahead by a country mile right now. ERA is a run better than both guys. He has a better WHIP and is 2nd in the AL in K’s. To win 13 games on that team is a far superior feat to winning 15 on the Tigers or Yankees. Poor guy gets 3.74 per start in run support and has seen his team score 3 runs or less in 17 of his starts.

As I wrote on my blog (http://www.noyoureatowel.net/2.....kevin.html) it sucks that they moved the Yanks/Sox game back…right into Yom Kippur!

Labor day doubleheader… all day on front of the TV.. not the way you would want to spend a holiday..:)

  10. MikeJav

Eff his win/loss record. Greinke is hands down the best pitcher in the AL this year. Too much emphasis is put on wins when that should really be the last thing to define a pitcher’s ability.

The pitcher’s job is to put his team IN POSITION to win, which Greinke clearly does pretty much every night. Its not his fault the offense doesn’t back him up.

His numbers all around are sick this year. 6 CG’s in 27 starts, an ERA under 3.00, he is second to only CC in innings pitched, barely double digits in HR’s allowed, and not only does he have over 200 K’s but he only has 40 walks to go with that. Greinke should be the unanimous Cy Young winner in my opinion.

Verlander is 2nd with CC and Beckett neck-and-neck for 3rd.

O jeez I got tix to the sunday v. Boston specifically because it wasn’t at 8. That really stinks. :-(

Well I for one plan to throw it on the radio and listen outside!

  13. Rishi

ugh!!!!! I have tickets to that Sept 27th game and do not want to be getting home at 1 am on a Sunday!!!

I’m getting very nervous about the Twins. I do not want the Twins in the ALDS! I’m sick and tired of the Yankees being ousted in the 1st round against teams they’ve swept in the regular season.

I already can see the foolish Yankee fans drooling about the opportunity to play Minnesota in the 1st round.

Those who do not learn from history are destined to repeat it!

  15. Isa

What about the Saturday game it’s still listing as a TBD?

ESPN games I just put on mute…I can’t handle Joe Morgan :)

The last few times yanks made it out of the first round was courtesy the twins.. The Yanks seem to have Twins number just like the Angels have the yanks number.. Plus the Twins pitching and hitting doesn’t scare you like Tigers.. I would take an ALDS match-up with the Twins 100 times out of 100..

Pete, I’m so glad you mentioned that Angels game last week–I scored a sweet sweet ticket pretty cheap same day you first mentioned it. I think that game has the potential of being really interesting considering how the playoffs are shaking out. People should be comin’ out for that one!!

FYI–I bet that Red Sox game on Saturday 9/26 is going to be a 4 p.m. game for FOX….

  18. Bronx Jeers

I don’t think you should buy into the playoff history of any given match-up.

    Teams change.

    //Andy was dealing last night.

I think the obvious is that it was against Baltimore. Don’t get too juiced up on last night’s performance. He’s a #5 on any other team contending…..just stating the obvious!

CC is a tired #2, AJ is a #4 and Andy and Joba are #5’s. That’s not going to cut it in ALCS!

  20. Stateman52

Funny, I have tickets for all four of the changed date games. Lucky me.

  21. yankeeblades

As a Jewish yankee fan, I am extremely upset by this. This game could possibly wind up being one of the most important games of the season. I was very much looking forward to it, and was extremely thankful that it was an afternoon game. Instead, I will be unable to watch the game, which adds to the difficulty of my day, because I will be fasting. It’s like ESPN doesn’t even care about fans. And what about Kevin Youkillis? Will he be playing? It’s not even fair to the players.

I guess this means Kate Hudson won’t be at that game. I don’t know if she’s an observant Jew or not, though.

  23. saucY

wishful thinking on ESPN’s part that the game on the 27th will mean anything!
