The people that say Jeter’s stats aren’t HOF worthy and that he’s merely an intangible player couldn’t be more ignorant. 162 game averages of .317/17/81 with 120 R are right up there with any of the non-power guys in the hall. Jeter is definitely a better player than Ripken or Biggio, and it’s not even debatable.

I’m sorry. Football season is just beginning. This is the meat of the baseball season. We baseball fans have survived MONTHS waiting for this time of year. Forgive us if we don’t want to end our season BEFORE the championship games. I heard a good portion of Michael Kay’s show today, which centered around Jeter specifically. He interviewed Tino Martinez. I thought it was a very timely and appropriate show. It IS still baseball season.

football sucks it is all physical talent and nothing else unless you’re a quarterback… sorry i’m not impressed if you can tackle someone… if you can hit a 100 mph fastball 450 feet… ok now that’s impressive… running and jumping and that’s it… sorry nah the skill level doesn’t even compare

We are days away from football and Michael Kay’s show relentlessly went on and on about the Yankees today. Heck, Im a Yankees fan but the rest of the season is meaningless unless someone gets injured God forbid. The guy doesnt know anything about how to program a talk show. His bias toward baseball is sickening for football fans which is why we tune to Francesa.

I’ve never understood why Tommy John hasn’t made it to the HOF.
He had 285 wins and many of those with mediocre teams like the White Sox and Cleveland Indians.
Through a surgery named after him, he’s saved many major league pitching careers.
It’s also an injustice that Bert Blyleven with over 3,700 strikeouts isn’t in the Hall.

Sounds like good news on Robertson. What was tricky for the Yankees was that there was no pain on the days he pitched, only tightness the day after. It’s easy for me to see how a pitcher (and the team) might think that it would clear up on its own, or as long as there was no discomfort while pitching that it would be okay “next time.” the important thing is that they DID go ahead and do an MRI and have it examined by Dr. Andrews. It will be great to have Robertson available.
