"Hey Pete, great article, from what I could read of it. For the past week or so, I have been unable to read the second page of your articles either by clicking on page 2, the arrow, or trying to type it in."

-------------------------------------

I know it doesn't solve the problem, but you could try hitting the 'Print this page' link that is near the top of each article. In my experience, when the Print dialogue box is dismissed, the printer friendly page stays open and contains the complete article, there for your reading. =)

Joba retired the last batters he faced and had batters swinging at wrong pitches. Wish he would have pitched a 4th inning.

Actually all three of his starts under the new Joba rules have been the same. Three innings, two earned runs. The other four starts in this grouping were before the "rules" changed and were even worse -- 20 IP, 21 ER.

The scout that discovered Jeter,Dick Groch,remembers...
http://www.newyorkblips.dailyradar.com/story/discovering-jeter-is-scout-s-honor-for-groch/

I can't find the story ,still looking.

Groch was told not to bother trying to sign Derek Jeter, because he was going to the University of Michigan,(where he had a full scholarship offer) he said."no he's not, he's going to the hall of fame."

In partial defense of Joba, its impossible to have a quality start when you are yanked after 3 innings. Most of his starts under the revised "Joba Rules" would not have qualified anyway, but his last one could have whereas Joba only allowed 2 runs and settled down completely after his rocky first inning

"Derek Jeter has done the impossible. He has made it hard to hate the Yankees.

For 15 years, he has thrived in a city that devours the weak. He quietly has embarrassed all the buffoons who deemed him overrated and a Gotham city embellishment. And now the white knight of baseball is striding into the classic New York moment, ready to rescue the sport from one of its duller closing months on record."
