And Boston is not in the same league as NYC. Boston is a second rate city. If you want to compare try Chicago or LA.

Off the top of my head?

Chicago.

Boston's a nice place, Ham, don't get me wrong-my first teaching job out of college was near there. But, to me Boston was missing something that NY has, something that I can't put my finger on.

There is a difference for me between
Wood's B movies and High Budget Hollywood studio films with star power that stink.

Gigli (I went out of my way to rent it and yes it is that bad) for example.

Anyone see "the sweetest thing"? crapfest
North?
Godfather 3
Boat trip
King Kong (new)

The reality is that Boston's a city with less than 1 million people. It's closer to Pittsburgh then it will ever be to NYC.

Shout out to Jim Carroll who passed away last Friday.

Swayze is getting a lot of spotlight lately, as he should. What kid doesn't love "Red Dawn"?

But Carroll's "Basketball Diaries" was a book I carried around with me in high school and was somewhat of an eye-opener for me.

Rest in peace, Catholic Boy.
