Pete, what a loss for Yankee fans. I can’t imagine anyone matching the dedication you’ve put into this blog, but I hope one of your LoHud colleagues notices the gaping void you’ve left in the Yankee blogosphere and at least tries to fill your shoes. Would it be possible for your successor to go on using the terms “GGBG” and “Swishalicious?”

Bet you’ll have a wicked good time in Boston – that is, hitting the clubs every night after the BoSox make an early exit. In all seriousness, Yanks fans wouldn’t bother hating the Red Sox if they weren’t a first class organization too. History, intensity and passion await you on the other side of the rivalry. They’re lucky to have you.

I think we all feel the same today. I am living in RI and this blog makes me feel like back home in NY and I kid you not, I woke up a few times during the night thinking about what it will be when we don’t have Pete.

Stultus-

When they signed Gary Sheffield at the beginning of the season, he was considered an afterthought who would see occasional playing time. He actually turned out to be a very valuable player for them. Until he got hurt too anyway.

Although, poor Angel Berroa couldn’t cut it on that team either

I woke up today thinking that the end of this blog was just a dream, a nightmare infact. Unfortunately it turned out to be true.

I may not post much or know anyone, but I read this blog numerous times a day, and it feels like I’ve just lost a good friend.
