You know what's funny? In 2007, Sabathia was 19-7 with a 3.21 ERA and won the Cy Young.

This year, he is again 19-7 with a 3.21 ERA (with 1 start left) but he'll probably only finish 3rd behind Grienke and Felix Hernandez.

GB, I'm just missing some genes or something but when it comes to this stuff I'm happy I am. Sometimes I think I'm too stupid to worry.

The yankees have beaten the Red Sox silly this second half of the year and they've done it in every which way possible.

The range and methods through which the've crushed the sox has been just remarkable.

The contrast between last nights game and today's was eye opening.

Yesterday it was power and speed.

Today it was CC yet again dominating the Sox. This is now the 3 straight game where he's beaten the Sox. And today he was utterly masterful.

The big man gives up 1 hit - and does so on a day where the offense was giving them nothing and he literally had to be perfect.

When is the last time the yankees had a pitcher who could answer that call?

And as they've done all year - they've dominated innings 7-9.

The Sox pen can get all the acclaim they want.

Who cares - the yankees pen is better.

Hughes would be arguably the most underrated relief pitcher in baseball if Dave Robertson didn't happen to be in the majors as well.

And what they've added these past two games to the diversity of ways they've stepped on the Sox throat has been dominant base running.

The yankees are a systematically better team than the sox.

It is a long time since all of the cries of the yankees not being able to beat the sox.

0-8 is a distant memory now.

Hard to believe that once again the season series will be split.

But the yankees are now clearly the better team. That doesn't guarantee post season success but they are clearly the favorites even though the media just won't acknowledge that reality.

Tip of the cap to C.C. What a game he pitched today. It's been a long time since we've had an Ace like him.
