I'm sure it was reported on this blog, but I didn't see it. Chapman is now a free agent and the Yankees are expected to be in the running (of course). http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20090925&content_id=7155910&vkey=news_mlb&fext=.jsp&c_id=mlb

Ozzie's schtick has gotten really old and his team quit on him in early August, right after the Peavy deal. That being said, if his players are more interested in college football then they are about the game they're playing, against a team that's fighting for a playoff spot, then I don't blame him for being mad. While it's true that the manager is responsible for the team, ultimately every player is responsible for their own actions.

"Ozzie Guillen gets old real quick, but anybody see his rant last night? He got on his players, called them a bunch of expletives, because they were watching football games during a game in which they gave up 12 unanswered runs. If this is true, for once, I don’t blame him. I might have done the same thing."

If his team is watching college football while giving up 12 unanswered runs, it's time for Ozzie to stop blaming the players and just move on.

The only questions left to be sorted out is the No. 4 starter and the health of Jerry Hairston.
This will all be decided by next Sunday. After the clincher, Girardi will rest players accordingly.

Not that it means anything, but their magic number is 2 to clinch best record in all of baseball over the Dodgers.
