Actually, when Girardi was asked in the postgame on YES if the pitch by Price was intentional, Girardi said that he didn’t know.

Check the transcript.

Cone also thought that it was intentional.

The Rays are jerks. Pena swung at the pitch by CC that hit him. So the HBP is on him.

I take the blame for CC’s bad outing. When I got in my car, CC had just gotten the 2nd out in the 1st inning. He then proceeded to give up four runs. My bad.

That said, if the players wanted CC to get 20, DHing Molina didn’t quite fit with that mindset.

There’s no way that pitch hit him in the hand! It was no where near his hand. It ricocheted off his shoulder and he fell on his wrist from what I saw in all the replays.

If Pena was not previously hit, I would buy this “untentional crap”. This was done with purpose and malice. With nothing to play for, these 3 games are essentially Rays’ “post season games”. So I hope they enjoy it, as Yankees are going to the dance and the Rays are sitting these one out.

Stop, just stop!!! So the calendar now shows October and because CC had a bad outing in a tune up start before the post-season, you are convinced he wont pitch well in the post-season?

Scary thought if that was the case. Why in world would you want to injury another player intentionally?
That’s certainly not what happened with Pena. Rays appear to be sore losers.

CC will be fine…i have no worries about him…hes big time and will show up in 5 days
