There were a lot of questions about the bruise and cut that Tigers slugger Miguel Cabrera had on his face on Sunday but Cabrera wouldn’t talk about it. Now comes word that, according to police, Cabrera was in a fight with his wife early Saturday morning after he came home drunk at 5 a.m.

Cabrera went to the police station after officers arrived at the house but was not arrested or charged. Tigers GM Dave Dombrowski picked him up from the station around 7:30 a.m.

UPDATE, 11:58 a.m.: Just to clarify – as it says in the story, Cabrera went to the station with officers because his wife requested that he leave the house. There are no charges pending in the case, though the more you read about the details of situation – many of which are in this Detroit Free Press story – the more ridiculous it seems. Cabrera was partying with White Sox players while his team is fighting for a playoff spot? In two of the biggest games of the season, Cabrera went a combined 0-for-7 with eight LOB.
