CB: well put. Unbelievable that it’s come to this. It’s impossible to overstate how much of an advantage having a patient, switch-hitting power bat at the catcher position is, and how huge an advantage the Yankees enjoy over other teams with that circular lineup. It’s relentless, it’s lethal, and it’s the reason why they’re able to wear out even good starters, get to bullpens, and come from behind at any time. All I can hope is that AJ is lights out and/or the Yankee hitters can mash enough to overcome the soft spot in the lineup.

No offense but wanting Verlander over Pavano could be the most ridiculous thing I’ve read on this blog in a long time.

One is an ace, maybe best arm in league, the other is a head case/brittle #4. Come on man, use your heads a little.

Playing a so-called team of destiny could be tough, but one solid win for the Yankees should take care of that. Twins are going to be high on life for a little while. That stadium is still full and rocking. Wow.

Marte needs to be in the pen. I don’t trust Coke in a tight situation.
