Even if the play was called correctly there’s no gaurantee the Twins win the game. If you assume Mauer scores then Tex’s homer ties the game an they’re still batting. It’s a shame the call was blown, but you can’t assume it would be 1-1.

There’s a difference between the balls and strikes calls and the blown call on the double by Mauer. The HP ump was calling wide pitches strikes for BOTH sides the whole game, he was very consistent with it. The idiot Yankee fan Phil Cuzzi blew a call so obvious I’m seriously suspicious that he did it on purpose. The ball wasn’t even close, it was a foot inside the line, it was easy to see from the first angle they showed on live TV and that was about 50ft further back and partially obscured vs where Cuzzi was standing. There’s just no way he could’ve missed that, it was one of the worst calls I’ve ever seen, Phil Cuzzi should be fired.

Sorry, Yanks fans. If Cuzzi doesn’t completely blow that call, this is a 1-1 series. Whatever happens from this point forward is bogus. You simply can’t win straight up — you always need help.

I don’t care if the bad call on Mauers would be double would have made a difference or not. How can such a bad call even tollerated. Especially when Cuzzi has a history of bad calls. This man should not be allowed to officiate the rest of the playoffs. This wasnt a judgment call. He wasnt calling balls or strikes or if baserunners were out or safe. He had to watch a ball and decide what side of a line its on. He was standing 10 feet away and the ball landed a foot in play. He must have blinked and just decided to guess. One of the worst calls I have seen in all of my years watching MLB. Lets not let the MLB turn into the NBA officiating.

Alright Greg, I’m impressed. Indeed the greatest armchair umpire ever. Why exactly did the hp ump have a grudge against your team, the most infallible team in the world? AT HOME?

Also the fact that your players are whiny sissies doesn’t mean Tim Tchida was an undercover Twins fan.

None of this changes the fact that the umps robbed the twins of an additional opportunity to win the game.

And the horrible Kubel called swinging strike that would have made the count 3-0 with runners on was even more evidence that the Umps had it in for the Yankees. We never get a break in this town!!!

No I’m basing it on my eyesight and TBS, and the players reactions. I know the strikezone, even from an off-centered camera. There’s no chance that most of those were even close. Plus those pitchers were only called for one team, and it wasn’t the Yankees.
