Girardi: There’s still time to make decisions
Joe Girardi didn’t give many definitive answers during his post-workout media session, so if you’re looking for clarity I wouldn’t recommend the audio posted below. As he said, there are about 48 hours until game time and so there’s still time for decisions to be made. At this point, I’d be surprised if the Yankees didn’t use the three-man rotation, assuming weather doesn’t affect the series schedule.
On that note, I’ve been asked a number of times about weather contingencies. A rainout on Friday or Saturday would ostensibly be made up on Sunday, and my understanding of the ticket situation is that all playoff tickets are for what GAME NUMBER is on them. So, if Game 1 on Friday is rained out, fans with tickets to that game would then go on SATURDAY because that is when the first game of the series would be played.
In other words, if you have tickets to Game 1, you go to the first game of the series whenever it is played. If you have tickets to Game 2, you go to the second game of the series whenever it happens to be played. If that changes, I’ll let you know.

GLove, I liked Abreu, don’t get me wrong….but it worked out for the Yankees. I didn’t like when Brett Tomko whined and I don’t like Abreu doing something like the same thing. It’s not like the Yankees didn’t appreciate Abreu – it was hard not too. This nostalgia for him is getting way overblown, though. Swisher is younger and he’s a good ballplayer – he’s fit in seamlessly and we should have him in pinstripes for a few more years. We also have Tex. Why do people have regrets? How many more games was Abreu going to win for us?
All the new guys have fit in ridiculously well – think about how many players have had issues dealing with the pressures of NY and how many need a year or two to acclimate. I don’t believe in the destiny garbage that’s being thrown around here, but in terms of the makeup of the team itself, maybe I do. Sometimes you just know when something is right, when it’s complete……and something just clicked between the veterans and the new guys. I can’t believe that that hasn’t played a big part in our sucess this year.
Hope that there are no rainouts but if there is it will be interesting to see what time they play on Sunday since FOX’s priority on Sunday is the NFL and they have games all afternoon. And the NLCS is already scheduled for Sunday PM.
Sam I don’t think that is correct. Because instead of effecting one set of ticket holders you are effecting two. I think if Friday was rained out, than you would go to Sundays game.
too early to worry about weather, no?
Buck Showalter just predicted that the Angels will win the series in just 2 games.
keep it moving…

Likely 4 o’clock. Giants game is at 1 on FOX, LA doesn’t have an NFL franchise to contend with.
Would they really push back the games for groups of ticket holders? Wouldn’t it make more sense to have a “make-up game” for Friday’s ticket holders (or Saturdays, but it looks like the rain will be Friday) on Sunday?
I have tickets for Saturday, so here’s hoping that none of the games are rained out!
We checked out how they did the NLDS Rockies game earlier today and that is how they did it. It went by which Game # you had on your ticket. Then the whole series got pushed back. Plus, some people prefer Game 1.
