Sam, Sam, go away
Never ruin another Yankee day
When again will the Bombers play?
I wish Pete never went away

That's an original right there. And it's better than anything Sam has posted in 2 weeks. How's that for an award-winning journalist?

To say the Angels have the series advantage because of 1 matchup in 1 game is ludicrous. Seriously, find a real story to write about!

Tony - lets not forget the random 4:30pm games. Just in case the schedule wasnt random enough already, throw in a couple games in every series that a lot of working folks can't completely watch.

Hey, I have a good idea on how to attract interest in MLB. After a playoff series concludes lets wait 4 days to start the next round. Then we can start the games at 8:00 at night when the temperatures should be in the 30 to 40 degree range (or colder). Then for the crowning jewel of the MLB season, the World Series, we will play in November and maybe even get a little snow. Am I missing anything?

I am not certain CC 3 times is a good thing. But I'll trust. :)

I'm also not certain Scott Kazmir has the edge anymore.

I think they'll play in almost any conditions. I just hope there are no in-game delays that force the pitcher to sit for too long.

It sure stinks that since all the series ended by 4 games they couldn't move the start for the LCS up one or two days - YES, I understand, television, blah, blah, blah. But they'd get weekend games, just not weekend #1 and #2 games. Who cares? Most people who are going to watch are going to watch. This is crazy. This is not like the Superbowl where you can have 2 weeks of hype and people will still care. People who are not baseball fans aren't tuning in until the WS anyway.

Just hoping no one gets hurt on either team.

Gaudin's no Kazmir. But neither is Kazmir. I know Scott's pitched better after the trade, but he won't be pitching into the 7th or 8th if the Yankees do their jobs which is to really work him. Kazmir averages 5.6 innings per start. In contrast, "Brittle A.J. Burnett" averages 6.3 per start. And CC the horse of course, averaged 6.8 innings per start.

Betsy and Pat M.,

This article is a must read, but especially for you two. Pat M, I'm sure you're familiar with the early stories especially about the scouts. Betsy M, you need not worry. Looks like Phil was born a competitor. lol.
