Yet again this game is a microcosm of AJ burnett’s entire career. Runs of brilliance that are without warning marred by melt downs.

But at least he’s in his emotional safe space out on the mound with molina catching.

Its amazing that anyone could watch AJ pitch and think that the catcher is responsible for the outcome of how he pitches.

AJ has complex mechanics that easily go out of whack. He does a poor job of repeating his mechanics consistently. In turn he’s prone to wild and sudden flucuations in performance. That’s what he is – that’s what the team has to live with.

And the team is benching the guy who was arguably their second best offensive player in a low scoring game where one swing could ake all the difference based on the idea that the catcher alters the outcome of how AJ pitches.
