This incessant droning about how CC should pitch Game 6 as if Andy Pettite were some kind of bum is getting tedious. Yes, I get it, CC has been lights out this series.

Sheesh. At this point I want Pettite to win as much to make the CC-or-bust people eat crow as to send the Yanks to the World Series.

Absolutely not true GB7 and you know it. I've been on this board cheering the Yankees since 2008. Many sports fans enjoy picking apart decisions and strategy. It does nothing to do with my love of the team. You are not the Lohud police, you have not been appointed to ridicule anyone who does not adhere 100% to the Girardi party line and as I said before, if that's what you want then start your own blog.

Aura,

It’s nothing personal. GB7 has a problem with everyone, even his internet friends.

Are we giving weather reports from around the globe?

Raining and dark here.

Mel, I only have issues with people that make stupid remarks. When was the last time that Mr. Aura ever made a post or statement that wasn't a whine? It's a troll, as much as Jim-Pir-One is.

Zach - well, stranger things have happened, that's for sure. The business of vaccine production is far from straightforward.

On the production end, you have the drug companies guessing - very educated guesses, but still guesses - what flu strains to make vaccine for many months in advance. Then they have to actually produce the lots, in a complex and time-consuming process (usually growing the virus particles in eggs, or some other culture medium; it's not like you can speed up the life cycle). Then, there's the requisite testing.

On top of that are liability concerns, where you're talking hundreds of millions of dollars, if not more.

Then, on the delivery end, doctors and clinics have to pre-order, pay upfront (for private docs, the cost can be tens of thousands of dollars up front, which is a lot for a local MD running his own office), and invest in appropriate temperature-controlled storage.

And finally, administration to patients, for which insurance companies typically re-imburse pennies on the dollar, under the guise of being bundled into the routine office-visit payment. And, if the insurance company does pay, it's months late. So, there's there's financial difficulties involved at the end of the line. Plus potential liability concerns for the poor guy who's actually giving the shot.

It's a crazy world.

It's much easier to agonize over the Game 6 starter :)

You must feel honored that Aura made an exception to respond to you this time instead of ignoring you like he says he always does.

Anyone else excited? Nervous?
