Mark in Tampa -

I just wanted to make sure I heard it right. But, it doesn't ruin my joy over the Yankees' accomplishments this season. I figure things like that are just par for the course.

Of course, any Yankees fan could have told you the Angels are a tough team and a good team, but none of them would have said this particular series showed you how good they are. Instead, it showed you even good teams can play poorly enough to lose.

It's gone.

Doreen,

Yeah, he said something like that, but so what? This morning, people are talking about how the Vikings loss to the Steelers shows how good they are. It's just the way sports talk is these days. It makes no sense, but you can drive yourself crazy finding a Yankee hater behind every microphone, pen , and typewriter. Let it go. :)

"I was surprised they brought Kazmir in, esp since he had been ineffective when he started, and hasn’t been used as a reliever."

I was too. I thought that they would use Weaver.

"Did anyone else hear Billy Ripken on MLB last night say something to the effect that the best thing about the ALCS was that now everyone knows what a good baseball team the Angels are?"

I didn't hear that, Doreen, but I find it pretty comical if he did say that. If I was someone who didn't know anything about LAA, all this series showed me is that they make a lot of mistakes under pressure.

Doreen
so glad you got the DVR. I also taped the post game so I could watch the end on FOX. What a weasel that Roesnthal is, talking about past failures, glad Derek put him in his place.
Now a few days to relax, then bring on the Phillies :)
I was so happy that Andy got the win, esp since the pre game guys thought it was a huge mistake.

Did anyone else hear Billy Ripken on MLB last night say something to the effect that the best thing about the ALCS was that now everyone knows what a good baseball team the Angels are? Or was I just so tired that I missed something - context, exact words, whatever? I think I'm going to try and see if they replay that post-game this morning to catch it again.

I also DVR'd the game and the post-game, and since I missed some interviews in the overlap last night while watching live, I plan on replaying bits and pieces. Thanks to everyone here who convinced me to get the DVR.

My mom and dad just bought a house in Florida (no more snowbirds) and the address is 2705. So my mom's prediction is #27 in 5 games. I don't deal in predictions, but I'm happy to go along with that.

What a great and glorious morning. It was fun sharing this season with all of you. Just a little longer to go. :)

As much as I appreciate CC's performance, I really think that Alex should have gotten at least a co-MVP honor. I think that this may be some of the fallout from his steroid admission. CC may have won 2 games, but Alex helped to win all 4. That should have counted for something.

So excited to have the Yankees back in the World Series. Watching Mo last night made me realize how lucky the Yankees are after watching some of the other closers (Nathan, Papelbon, Fuentes, Lidge)melt down in the playoffs.

I would like to see CC on 3 days rest again especially since Gaudin has pitched 1 inning in the past month.

Congratulations again to the NY Yankees!
