MLB NETWORK POST-GAME OCT 25th COMMENTARY SHAMEFUL!

I love the MLB Network but what I witnessed during the MLB postgame commentary last night was shameful. The Yankees win, are headed to the world series for the first time since 2003, and Joe Magrane & company take repeated digs that "Andy Pettitte's stuff is fading" and "Jeter's peers consider him overrated." I'd expect this from a local, partisan broadcast but this is supposed to represent all of MLB. Pettitte had a sold second half (6-3, 3.31 ERA in 14 starts) and has kept rolling through the playoffs. Jeter hits .334 with a .406 OBP, 30 steals and 18 HRs, tied his best ever fielding % of .986 (led the American League), continues to rip through the record books, and this smug commentator disses them minutes after they win the pennant. Real classy coming from a 57-67 pitcher with one good season on his resume. The lead-in should have been the fact that Pettite (229-135) is now the all-time win leader in post-season history (16-9, including 2-0 with a 2.37 ERA this year). Aside from Billy Ripken's professional, balanced commentary this panel of commentators showed no class and let down MLB fans. Regardless of who wins the series I hope there are better commentators who can celebrate individual and team achievements in this great American sport.

Thanks Mark. So we had the lowest era other than St. Louis I presume? Yet people wanted girardi fired over bullpen mgmt. They say joba is useless even though he gave up one run? And Hughes had really one bad inning as a 24 yr old in his hometown. It is expected that the media will grasp at straws to make controversy but for so many fans to fall prey is disturbing. It's like people don't care what they actually see...they need to be told what to think. Anyhow, apparently this is the first day in 8 months that not one of the three amigos is online. Of course, why would anyone be online today?

Did anybody hear the McCarver quote: "It is appropriate that Mariano Rivera starts every pitch with a bow." He never explained himself. What did he mean by that? Does he think Mariano is Japanese? Maybe that he is a modern day Samurai? What else? It was very confusing, and as usual, probably very little basis for it; and as always, no follow up question from Buck.

How about this picture with Hal hiding behind his big sister to keep Jeter from drowning him with the bubbly.
