Yankees in 6, tops, maybe less. Phils won WS in '08 beating an overchieving Tampa Bay team that ran out of gas, then walked through a mediocore NL slate in '09.

I love New York overconfidence...as if this team accomplished anything in the past nine years other than "highest payroll".

For a team that has consistently choked in big game situations since 2001, Yankee fans sure seem to believe that this World Series is already in the bank.

Bottom Line:

The Phillies lineup owned your multi-million dollar crown jewel Sabathia in '08.

The head case Burnett has been trending downward and his sissy refusal to work with Posada takes a much needed bat out of your lineup.

Speaking of Posada, he and Damon have ten cent arms. The Phillies running game FAR outmatches New York's defensive abilities, or lack thereof.

Since coming off the steroids, Pettitte's ERA has gone from the 2's and low 3's to the mid 4's. Lets see how he does against a team with four 30 HR hitters in the new Yankees bandbox.

Speaking of your new minuscule stadium, consider that this team just scored 8 runs a week ago in the cavern that is L.A. Games 1 and 2 will be a Philadelphia Home Run Derby while you face two Phillies starters that have a combined 28 scoreless innings in the 2009 post season.

Then, we go back to Philly where we take the bat out of the hands of your DH. Can't wait to see Sabathia waddle out to the plate again in place of Matsui.

For all of the Yankee mystique, you're just another ballclub. You had an easy road to the World Series facing an injury decimated Twins and an defensively inept Angels whose rotation has limited post season experience. Meanwhile, we played in freezing temperatures in Colorado and destroyed the media-favored Dodgers, led by your former steward, Joe Torre.

Your manager is wet behind the ears and in WAY over his head. Your rotation and ballpark are custom designed for the Phillies to tee off en mass. Rivera is scary, but he'll never be an issue.

Phillies win in five with relative ease. Cliff Lee shuts out the Yankees tomorrow night in NY as we watch your bandwagon media eat the choking Bombers alive.

Enjoy the series. :)

Those sac bunts won game 6. Any time you can put pressure on a pitcher in the post season you have to do it. Pressure is what separates the men from the boys in October.

The Yankees were a mediocre team until Girardi started playing small ball out of desperation (Arod and Posada were out and Teix wasn't hitting) He learned that small ball and big bats was deadly conmbination and also kept his team from an extended slump for the rest of the season.

"mindless pitching changes, regressive sacrifice bunts and pinch runners replacing critical hitters in tight games."

----------------------------------------

Keith Law is a moron. Girardi made one really bad pitching decision which was taking out Robertson for Aceves. The sacrafice bunts were fine and it did work. The guys bunting were Swisher who couldn't get a hit and Melky there number 9 hitter. I dont know I like having runners in scoring position for Jeter, Damon, Tex and A-Rod. The yanks cant always wait around for a 3 run homer that is why the last couple of years they were eliminated in the first round. I like the yankees won 2 games at the stadium against the angels without hitting a homerun. That shows they can score different ways.

Yes I didn't like all the pinch running in the alcs. You dont have to worry about that because Guzman is off the roster.

Thanks Sun Devil. I've stayed away from all of that stuff for the past few days. I wanted to somehow "purify" myself for the world series but not getting dragged into anyone's version of how it is. (I gave in to a little of the Molina debate, but otherwise I've stayed out of the fray.) Sitting back and letting Girardi do the work has done well by me throughout the season and up to this point. Maybe I'll watch a bit of that just to see what they're putting out there.
