Yeah that WEAK NL took the the AL East behind the shed last year, and gave 'em a beat down in the WS. Yeah that team that you couldn't beat last year....what was their name...oh that's right the Rays...well the Phillies made simple work of them.

I am so sick of people not giving the Phillies any respect and the media building the Yankees to be an unstoppable force. A lot people are forgetting that the the Twins and Angels gave those series to the Yanks…they didn’t win it or earn it. So let’s see what they do with a team that isn’t going to give them anything…they will have to earn it.

My dog picked the Phillies in 6.
My cat said Phillies in 7.
Jimmy Rollins picked Phillies in 5.
And John Kruk said the Yanks wouldn't win the AL pennant.
I'd say these are equally entertaining, and otherwise equally useless predictions.

All I know is that anything can happen in a short series.

The Phillies are a great team. They didn't seem even to be breaking a sweat against he Dodgers in the NLCS. And they may win the World Series. But they haven't faced a team as good as the 2009 Yankees. And the Yankees have just beaten a team as good as the 2009 Phillies.

"I’m so tired of the Phillies and their fans arrogance. The Yankees need to beat them down. They have the worst fans in the world."

"I was reading through last night’s comments and liked your idea of “catcherball”."

wave your hat-

yes, catcherball is a philosophy that there are undervalued pitchers out there who if paired with just the right catcher will be much better pitchers.

i see a market imbalance where traditional gms cut or release pitchers if they can only pitch to one catcher. this resulting pool of unemployed pitchers can be gotten cheap as can the catchers who can't hit but who can stop the ball from rolling to the backstop.

the catcher just needs to be very soothing and it's a plus if he has hypnotic eyes to mesmerize the pitcher into believing he's good.

these kind of catchers are also undervalued at the present time so they can be gotten on the cheap too. once i pair the undervalued catcher with the undervalued pitcher, i'm going to sell them as a package deal to progressive teams for a hefty profit.

the only problem is that the pitcher will have to split the contract 50/50 because after all, he'd be nothing without his personal catcher.

If NYY let's Matsui and or Damon walk after this season, they should make a run at Marlon Byrd, who's a Type B Free Agent. He can give you a 20-20 type season, plays all outfield spots better than average and he's going to be fairly inexpensive without costing a draft pick.
