"my point on cano is they need more out of him to make up for the outfield deficiency."

Offensively he's the second best second baseman in the league. He's the second best second baseman overall too as far as I'm concerned.

Second baseman who hit over .300 and slug over .500 don't grow on trees.

RAB has recognized our old pal Pete for making one of the dumbest comments of the year - way back on March 25th.

It just so happens that Pete was responding to me after I suggested that the Yanks couldn't win the WS this season without A-Rod.

I'm one of those people who believes this blog is far better off now than it was 5 weeks ago.

Better coverage and fewer cheap shots, nonsensical rants, and dead horse beatings.

http://yes.mlblogs.com/archives/2009/11/burnett_nobody_can_take_this_a.html

Burnett had a bad Game 5, really bad, but his Game 2 saved the Yankees from being in deep trouble and a city from near-total panic.

"Nobody can take that away from me," Burnett said of his 3-1, Game 2 win, his World Series debut. "I had a rough one my last time out, but I had 24 guys in there telling me, 'You know what, if it wasn't for you, we'd be coming to Philly in a big hole. I'm glad I could help out and be a part of something this special."

**This is why I LOVE this team. Instead of letting the poor guy twist in the wind after his bad game 5, his teammates made him feel better about himself.

"Lackey is overrated.

If the yanks are gonna commit alot of resources to a pitcher, they be better off waiting until next novemeber when Doc n Beckett hit the market."

Josh Beckett called to say that he's just as overrated as John Lackey.

“It’s not like you can make something instantly,” General Manager Brian Cashman said. “It takes a process.”

Even after they win Cashman's all "process" this an "process" that.
