I cannot face another year with Swisher in right field. He is a strike-out artist who is really living off of one month -- last April. That a man who was batting .118 was shocked at being benched shows what a poor team player he really is. He was run out of Chicago for being a poor team mate. And don't get me started on his signal to the heavens for hitting a slow roller to left field!!

The old adage of you can't ever have enough pitching applies. The possibility exists that a surprise could come out of AAA but don't count on it. One of either Hughes or Chamberlain could solidify the starting rotation but will it be both ? There's always the unknowns but Brian Cashman is smart enough not to use the Boston approach of low risk / high reward pitchers.
He'll explore the best option be it Lackey or whoever it takes.

As Erica likes to remind us, Boras works for Damon. Maddux, among others, has told Boras where he wanted to play and saw to it he got it done. Damon has that power too if he chooses to exercise it.

Clearly, they cannot let Matsui and Damon go without significantly adding offense. The question is what is more risky 2-3 years of Damon or six years of Holliday. Not an easy call considering the age difference.

I join in the others who hope payroll doesn't have to be lowered. Sjhouldn't the payrolls of all series winners necessarily go up since the players performed well and that means raises?

Erica:

I’m an aardvark, and I’m proud!
I’m an aardvark, and I’m happy!
I’m an aardvark
If I try to be specific
And a little scientific
I am feeling quite terrific!

My sister and I would sing this song when we were kids.

*******

Very cute.

One of my favorites was Ernie & Bert's "La La La" Song, which was a tribute to the Letter L. With Bert singing the classic line "La La La Linoleum" :-)
