1. Sign atleast 2 pitchers via trade or free agent.

· Andy Pettite – if he doesn’t retire

· Doug Davis – I think he will be cheap

· Rich Harden – injury prone, but he is good

· Jason Marquis – cheap

· Justin Duchscherer – cheap

· Jon Garland – cheap

· Randy Wolf – I think he will not seek long term so that’s good

· TRADE for ROY HALLADAY

· TRADE for MATT CAIN

· TRADE for JOSH JOHNSON

*1st half JOBA, 2nd half WANG then put Joba @ the pen

2. Revamp the Outfield.

· Johnny Damon – LF sometimes DH

· Jermain Dye – RF

· Jason Bay – if he comes cheap, LF (doubt it though)

· Rick Ankiel – CF

· Chone Figgins – sign him to play LF

· Mike Cameron – 1 year deal is good..

· Randy Winn – 1 year

· TRADE for MATT KEMP

3. DH scenario.

· Hideki Matsui - if he resigns

· Johnny Damon - if he resigns, and we get another outfielder.

· Aubrey Huff – cheap, plays 1b/3b too

· Nick Johnson - cheap

· Jim Thome – he has a power bat, good to protect A-rod

4. Bench.

· Jerry Hairston Jr. – very good bench player

· Jose Molina – good catcher to back up Posada

· Gregg Zaun – backup Posada

· Mark Derosa – cheap

· Joe Crede – injury prone but has a good power bat

· Miguel Olivo – good backup for Posada

* if we didn’t get a backup for Posada just brink up Cervelli

5. Bullpen.

· Rafael Soriano – can set up MO, if Hughes fails

· Kevin Gregg

And when the Yanks were short a bat a few times this year, exactly how many times was Miranda tapped?

Zero.

With the Yanks, the past is often prologue,
*******************************************************

when exactly were the Yanks short a bat?

in fact at one point in June the Yanks thought Matsui was going to have to go on the DL and Miranda was going to get the callup....
whoever says he can't hit knows nothing about him...

as far as his age he's 26yrs old and if you are going to post about him at least read his bio....you'll find that everywhere he's played he's been an all star primarily for his bat.

the idea is that you guys don't trust the talent evaluaters that the Yanks have in player development and the funny thing is all that we've done recently is hit on the guys that we've brought up and given an opportunity to Cano,Wang,DRob,Melky,Cervelli etc..

i actually find it comical how high many people are on a guy like Ramiro Pena but how dismissive of Miranda many... are it's a joke really Miranda hit .290 last year .315 after the break was third in the IL in rbis' and 2nd in hrs and that's hitting behind Shelly who drove in 99rbis...

based on his production he's demonstrated that if given a shot he could probably adequately replace Matsui's bat and the perception that "he can't hit LHP" is the last hole in his game that he seems to have improved...what is not debatable is that he murders LHP and is a guy that has a very good eye and does not strike out much that would hit bombs into the upper decks and bleachers a Yankee Stadium...

the Yanks simply cannot let Damon walk.

He is an integral part of their offense and a perfect fit (pitcher per at bat, built for NYS, speed, etc).

Give him 2/$20 and let’s move on to other needs
------------------------------------------------------------

not only can they

they will if he wants to much

as much as you say we cant let him go we cant overpay him in years or money

a 24 hr/85 rbi lf with absolutely no arm & can only play 150 games at best is replaceable
