I actually can’t wait to see the movie. It just always bothers me how when they make musicals into movies, the singing is a secondary consideration. I understand, they want to attract people to the theater and someone unknown (well, unknown in Hollywood) isn’t going to do that no matter how well they sing. I mean, even Julie Andrews, who was the original Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady, had to take a back seat to Audrey Hepburn, and then the lady who actually did the singing got no film credit.

It’s just that Hollywood doesn’t really make stars anymore, do they?

(And I have never understood people’s attraction to Nicole Kidman, but that’s just me.)

There’s a magazine out this month (I forget which one) with a picture of 4 of the “Nine” ladies on it wearing gorgeous magenta gowns – it looks stunning.

As for the rumors they broke up, I won’t believe it ’til I see it in People.

He says he can and wants to in order to increase his attractiveness, especially to NL teams. I don’t think he or Damon gets a multi-year guarantee from the Yankees with the amount of DH type talent out there. It’s a pretty simple supply and demand calculation.

Acquiring Granderson makes a lot of sense, but it all comes down to the price. I’d be really hesistant to move Austin Jackson, but I’m sure he’s the key guy. No way they get a high level pitcher unless it grows to include Edwin Jackson.

I’m curious about how the regulars here feel about the best young talent and who if anyone is “untouchable”. My list of young guys I’d least like to trade in order is Hughes, Joba, Montero, Robertson, Jackson, McAllister, Romine and Nunez.

I still can’t believe she’s in “Nine.” Not a single serious singer in the lot of actresses, and that is a very serious singing musical. Well, I suppose the overdubbers are going to be very busy.
