Erica & RS -

YES! They had a great week (but it wasn't the walk-off series)! Both were so uplifting and I can't believe I confused the two. I do remember at the time that HOPE week seemed to really propel them forward. Funny how none of the broadcasters pointed to that week as a "turning point," at least not specificially citing HOPE Week.

I have used the Roxio program that KF mentions to transfer all our old home movies to DVD. If you do a straight copy it's really easy. It also allows you to do some editing if you need to. The only tricky thing was setting up the VCR near the computer. :) My parents, however, got the VCR to DVD copier at Costco or one of those big stores for a very good price and had good results with that.

Bodhisattva,

Please stick to yanks talk. You're embarrassing yourself. One major reason why life expectancy has increased so much this century is because of medical advances including vaccines and other drugs.

CR9, I agree completely on that. Belichick decided 35-40 yards of field position was worth trying to win the game with his historically great quarterback instead of putting it in the hands of Indy's historically great quarterback. 30 other coaches in the league don't even consider going for it there, and the only reason I don't say 31 is because this Dolfan's irrational exuberance over Tony Sparano's clock-managing skills has lead me to mentally assign him super-hero powers. :-P

What a comeback by the Colts!

What a brilliant coach Bill Belichick is. No joke. Just because it did not work out, does not mean it was not the right decision. Basically, video game coaching at its finest. And honestly, it looked like the guy did have possession at the first down line, not where he landed on the ground.
And the way the Patriots always act with a sense of impunity, their use of the timeouts came back to cost them. If anything was poor coaching, it was the use of the timeouts.
