I seem to remember a lot of people picking the Red Sux and the Rays. Everyone predicted a tight three way race in AL East. Not so much... We beat Boston by 8 wins and the Rays by 19. A lot of things went into that, but Girardi did a lot of things right. You can say he got lucky with no injuries, but a manager makes his own luck to some extent.
