I prayed God for Yankees whole this year, and happy to see Yankees to be a better team than last year and win the world series champ.
Although business is business,I still think that manage a business well sometimes need adopt warm method.
So far I really dislike Yankees took cold-blooded attitude to treat Matisui and Wang at all.
Yankees can let them leave, but don't criticize them in acrimonious and unfair and merciless way.
Matisui has excellent hitting skills and always serious in his job,and he is better than Damon obviously.
If Yankees consider age to give up Matisui,I hohe they also give up Demon.
Happy to see Yankees buy a lot of good players for fans, but sometimes do it too over will let the great team lose his legend color.
I wish Yankees to be a healthy and aggressive team, and not to be a "money team".
A excellent GM have the ability to sign excellent players in reasonable price.
I don't understand why Yankees always need to pay very high salary to sign player than other teams.
I like Yankees, but decide to stop to pray for Yankees.

Betsy,

If you're out there, Part IV of Nardi interview series is up on Pinstripes.

You'll be able to get some interesting info on Brackman, as I recall our dialogue and your having asked about him.

Nothing Nardi says in there contradicts my feeling that he'll be in the Yankee bullpen near the latter part of the season. You'll see, though, that now they've dealt with his arm slot for his FB and CB, they reintroduced change and will have all three in his diet for next season,in which he'll pitch as a starter. If he can remain healthy, I see no reason why he can't bring that heat out of the pen for us. With Melancon added in, we shouldn't need to add FA arms.

SoS,
Yeah, stay away from the Twilight movies.
My wife read the books and really liked them.
However, she didn’t like the 2nd book.
She saw the first movie and really disliked it.
—————————
The problem with people who read books that become movies is that they NEVER like the movie. I do not think I have ever met anyone that has said oh I love this book and the movie was great too. I think it is because you just lose so many details going from the book to the movie. My girlfriend said the book was so much better than the 1st movie but she can not wait for the 2nd movie so I know what you are saying Vin. I think they enjoy the movie but just in relation to the book it does not come close.
That said, my GF tried to get me to read the books and I refused but she did get me to watch the movie with her and I have to admit I really liked it. It is a movie that is hard to tell if people will like it. I thought no way and I ended up enjoying it. I would recommend renting the first one to anyone remotely interested and seeing if you like it at all.
=====

Here's the most unbelievable movie/book comparison I have ever heard - and I don't expect it to ever be topped.

We're at the Wellmont Theater in Montclair NJ in 1997, seeing Kenneth Branagh's uncut, verbatim 'Hamlet'. Before my GF and I settle into our seats, I hear one suburban matron say to another:

"I hear it's much better than the book."

Angel - in an Empire State of mind. #27 has arrived!
November 19th, 2009 at 10:51 pm
If you did it via email, I could play! I can justify sending an email quick email from work. You could have an assistant to announce when the window is closed?.. someone who can post without fear of the work police, lol. i.e not me.
*******

Well... that is certainly a score for E-mail based GTLU :-)

“And who is jealous of my beer bread???”

I can’t believe GB has tore into you yet
for using perfectly good drinking beer for making a loaf.
*****

Funny story, I was telling someone at work about the drinks I bought. And I said I had a 5-pack of beer. She asked why it was only a 5-pack. I said, "It started as a 6-pack, but one of the cans is for my beer bread, so now its a 5-pack" :-)

Except, I decided to make the second loaf, so now its a 4-pack

"I am taking the unpopular opinion that I think the Yankees should take a flier on him and sign him for next year."

I wouldn't call that an "unpopular opinion." A lot of us want him back. Unfortunately, there seem to be signs indicating that Cashman will do otherwise.
