Got to see the Dunc here in RI this summer. Hit two HRs against the Pawtucket Red Sox. The guy's a monster. Glad I got to see him in a Yanks uniform (albeit it was Scranton) at least once. Let's hope he finds a home in the NL so we can still root for him.

I'd hate to be a second baseman trying to turn a double play with Shelley bearing down on me. Here's hoping you have a long career, Shelley.

There are alot of players in the MLB who I would say are not as good or useful as Shelly Duncan.

Hopefully he gets a chance somewhere to contribute and make some decent $$$ before his career is over.

Gammons has lost his fastball, but back in the 70's he was a must read for all baseball fans and one of the only sources of information during the off season.

Rather have Duncan starting then Gardner or Melky. If they had Duncan in left and Damon in center I bet they would have won 107 games."
-----------------------------------
Actually, we would have won 99, because Melky had 4 walk off hits.

Besides that, this proposition of yours is moronic.

Good luck to Shelly. That enthusiasm he brings to the park is a wonderful thing. I hope he's able to catch on somewhere and have a productive MLB career. I think he can stick somewhere and play . . . His leaving does greatly reduce the opportunity for a freak forearm related dugout injury so I do see that as a positive.

Here's some blasphemy for a Saturday morning.

Go on baseball-reference.com.

Look up Whitey Ford.
Then go look up Andy Pettite.

With the exception of ERA, tell me how their careers are not comparable. One is HOF. The other?

Please look up the stats before flaming, thank you.

Looks like two more ESPN executives are out of their jobs for having an in-office affair. In the article it mentions that this affair was an open secret at ESPN, but something changed. IMO, what changed was that open secret was no longer localized at ESPN offices and became news on the internet and in newspapers which alerted Disney top executives as well as their legal department about this affair. In short, once the top suits of any corporation are made aware of a potential problem like this, they're going to cut their losses to limit their potential liability. Already that young woman that got involved with Phillips is claiming sexual harassment so more of that illicit affair will be coming too if a lawsuit if filed.
