Since when is Melky a corner OF? And the 06 and 07 numbers of Nady are average like I said.

08: absolute fluke first of the season with 143 and came back down to earth with the Yankees at 105

Like I said Nady is average. Maybe just a touch above average.

He (Nady) does not produce enough at all to be a corner OF or DH on this team.

But Melky does?

And I think you need to look at Nady’s stats:

’06: 17 HR, 63 RBI, .337 OBP, .280 BA
’07: 20 HR, 72 RBI, .330 OBP, .278 BA
’08: 25 HR, 97 RBI, .357 OBP, .300 BA

Take him out of Pitt and in the Yankee lineup in 06 and 07 and those RBI numbers go up.

I’ve heard Kenny Williams is a big fan but I just assumed Boras is thumping his chest and Jonny will be back.

I totally agree with the need for the 2 hitter to be a high pitch per AB guy with speed.

I believe like you’ve said that Damon (when he was right) really was a key element in making the rest of the line up move the way it did.

Where did you hear anything about Hawpe?

I’ve read nothing about him being an option.

If he was I could definitely be comfortable with bringing in DeJesus and Nady and trying them all over the lot till something clicked.

I remember when there would normally be a big free agent signing by Thanksgiving Day.

Post season ends later.

As for Hairston vs. Kennedy – I agree that Hairston’s a better player but I think Jerry is going to look for a situation where he can play everyday. I also was looking at Kennedy as a LH bat to slip between Jeter and Tex – Podsednik is another guy I would look at.
