I think that our bullpen out of spring training will ultimately be: Mo, Joba, Marte, D-Rob, Ace, Gaudin and Melancon. If there is an injury then I think we will see Sanchez get a shot. As for Edwar, he has one option left that will be used this march to send him away to scranton for the full year. After this year, he will get nontender so that someone who can actually help this team can have that 40 man roster spot.

The last statement by Mr. Cashman has me the most curious. I wonder who the Yanks have already signed to minor league contracts, that they are not yet ready to reveal.

My initial impression is that Cashman is clueless.

You are an idiot.

In simple terms, Gardner is a bust. His sole claim to fame is that he is fast on the baselines on those few occasions he gets a basehit or is inserted as a pinch runner, and good defensive partime cf'r. Those types of guys can be purchased anytime. There's no room for him on the Yanks unless he can hit at least 260.

Thanks, Chad....this off-season reminds me of two years ago - Cash holding on to the "cash" for next year - better free agent class, plus he has to pay Jeter, Mo and Girardi with new contracts next year.....

Gardners track record is that he gets better every year with more playing time. In spring training I would force him to bunt once each game

truth is you cant say damon wont be back just yet, if we know anything its that you cant just take cash's word for it, ill believe that theres no chance her returns the day he signs with another team, but besides that i think brett cannot and will not start in LF whoever they bring in to "back him up" will end up starting over him mark my words, hes a fast kid and yes is a great 4th outfielder but he cant start, i say sign two out of xavier nady marcus thames and rocco baldelli, they will all be affordable by the end of the offseason which would make this possible, I really believe tho that nady will have a come back year, he is a 1990s type of guy(tough, clutch, and humble) and thats what the yankees need so i say sign him to a year with and option for another and then get either thames or baldelli as the back up plan in case his arm isnt back to form... and at the end of the day the yankees didnt go after holliday because they are waiting for next years free agents class of outfielders, because carl crawford will be a yankee in 2011 in not by the end of 2010 when the rays are getting blown out and and brett still hasnt learned how to bunt. and i just gotta say that the yankees should have pushed brett into the vasquez deal and kept melky around because then wouldnt have this problem, the kid was no allstar but he was clutch and he knew his role, we wouldnt have won the world series without him
