Sadly you are correct. College hoops isn’t what it once was. The days of seeing the likes of Jordan, James Worthy, Sam Perkins, Sleepy Floyd and Pat Ewing playing head to head for the title are days gone by.

College basketball as a whole doesn’t have the cache it once did. The whole thing is watered down. The most talented players are gone after a year or two so you never really see the talent + experience players in college much anymore.

I agree though, they will probably have to win out to get an at large bid or win the ACC tourney.

Shocking how bad the Heels are this year. Pretty balanced conference overall though. Nobody close to a great team. They could catch lightning in a bottle for a weekend in March and squeeze in to the Round of 64. ACC doesn’t have the cache they once did, so they probably don’t fare all that well in terms of “at-large” teams this year.

And Sean Payton even had to throw in a shot when he handed the trophy to Brees, calling him the NFL’s MVP.
