Rained out in Tampa
The Yankees didn’t get on the field today. It’s not wet enough to rain out a regular season game, but there was no sense risking a player slipping in the outfield or stumbling on the mound.
Pitchers threw side sessions and hitters took batting practice in the indoor cages. The day was pretty light.
It seems CC Sabathia did not pitch today. At the very least, I have yet to talk to anyone who saw him pitching.
UPDATE, 12:24 p.m.: Sabathia did not pitch today. He’ll throw batting practice tomorrow.

I guess it will be an even slower news day.
OTHO, I wish we would get some rain to get rid of this snow.
Could we possibly get a LoHud Yankee Blog iPhone App? Has that been looked into at all?
Rich, we just had the rain recently and then it snowed again – annoying, huh? I think it’s supposed to storm again in a few days………..grrr.
Chad, thanks for the update. It stinks, but that’s life and there’s no question that it’s better to be safe than sorry.

I really need to move to FLA.
Hey Betsy,
I heard that too. Watching another potential storm for Wednesday evening.
Been thinking about this for a while…
How awesome would it be if Jeter swings at the very pitch from Beckett (likely a fastball) and hits a homerun. What a way to open the season!

I have never even heard of Maybach (not that I need to given the price):
