Park back to Day 1

Posted by: Chad Jennings - Posted in Misc on Feb 28, 2010 Print This Post Print This Post | Email This Post Email This Post

Brian Cashman said the Yankees will treat Chan Ho Park as if today is his first day of spring training (which, I guess, it is).

Park has been facing hitters and throwing bullpens in Korea, but the Yankees will begin his throwing program just like they began all the other pitchers.

Park will throw a bullpen tomorrow, but Cashman said he will not throw in a game during the first week of the spring schedule. That still leaves enough time to get him ready for opening day, they just don’t want to risk getting him hurt by rushing through a throwing program.

question: working on an online test.

    please help.

12% of population is left handed. what is probability that 5 of a total 80 students is left handed?

    I got 0.

  3. Rocco February 28th, 2010 at 2:06 pm

    Can’t be 0

  4. pat February 28th, 2010 at 2:06 pm

Phil Hughes got 2 pitches by ARod’s bat before he got hit hard. “He was setting me up,” Hughes said.

  7. Nick in SF February 28th, 2010 at 2:29 pm

Sounds like Phil has fallen behind Joba.

  8. sierchio February 28th, 2010 at 2:32 pm

  9. Bronx Jeers February 28th, 2010 at 2:33 pm

    Tina

    80!/(75!5!)*(.88^75)*(.12)^5 = .041

Pitchers are always behind the hitters at this point.

Woo… I was right. Guess that’s why I went through High School/College with good grades and never doing any work. I just knew it was the answer because it wasn’t 0 or .12 and it wasn’t .063 because that’s 5/80 so I figured it had to be .043… Work smarter not harder!!!

Pat M – I don’t know if you say this little nugget from one of the lead-ins yesterday.

“Girardi hasn’t settled on a lineup for Wednesday’s spring opener. In fact, he said the only spots set in stone for next season are 1, 3 and 4. Right now, he expects Nick Swisher to bat eighth, but he said that could change depending on who’s batting fifth, sixth and seventh.”

Feel free to use the quote next time you and Let’s Go are discussing the two hole!

    ;)

Fran, we’ll we’re batting 1000 with our Opening Day lineup. We got 1,3,4 and 8.

    :)

LOVED watching the Night Train. Now for the icing on the cake. Team USA winning this game will make the entire Olympics.

    GO USA!!!

    Why is Phil behind Joba?

  21. Nick in SF February 28th, 2010 at 3:14 pm

Good luck, Pat M. I took the USA +1.

    …………………
It’s the opposite. Pitchers have been throwing since February 18th. Except for the early arrivals at the minor league complex, most hitters are behind the pitchers but it should even out by the end of this week.

    I am home from brunch-

There was a little bit of a dessert problem whereas my cousin also made brownies. Hers were a straight fudge with fudge topping. Mine were chocolate peanut butter. Not that this is a competition.

The cinnamon rolls were a giant hit.

However, leftovers remain of all. They will be served in my office lunchroom tomorrow morning. First come first served.

  25. Joe from Long Island February 28th, 2010 at 3:58 pm

Erica – Have I told you how much I love brownies?

Ledger_Yankees Sounds like Girardi is open to using Park as a seventh-inning type as well.

If that’s true, then why don’t pitchers have their maximum fastball velocity until May?
