Arcade pictures (Part 2)
The rest of the arcade pictures passed along by the Yankees. A big thank you to Jason Latimer for sending them.
Pop-A-Shot runner-up Mark Melancon has quite the audience for his final round.
Christian Garcia and Nick Swisher play a video game.
Jorge Posada takes his turn against bullpen coach Mike Harkey in Pop-A-Shot. I like to think Dave Eiland is dancing in the background.
That's Alfredo Aceves, and this picture is clearly too funny for words.

Really intense expressions on the faces. Love it.
This looks like a great arcade.
“That’s Alfredo Aceves, and this picture is clearly too funny for words.”
LMAO. Very true.
Love that picture of Aceves.
Is Jeter at this event?
What should the Yanks do with the pen?

I’m disappointed there are none of Robbie
One thing I am taking from those pics is that Swish seems a little lighter than last season.
Where’s AJ? LOL
Thanks for posting!
As far as I know Jeter was there, he’s just not in any of the pictures. We know A.J. Burnett was there, but he’s not in any of the pictures either.
Also, I am amazed Christian Garica came out of this unscathed.
Matt,
You can’t trade Gaudin for draft picks.
Wow, no AJ pics or Phil pics…….
Thanks, Chad – I appreciate it. Bummer……who took the pics?
Betsy,
Clearly, they don’t care about us.
Chad =
Thanks for posting these. Actually, it’s nice to see some of the “other” Yankees – we really do get enough pics of the “popular” guys.
Doreen, no Jeter? No Phil? No AJ? I don’t want to complain, but whomever took the pics didn’t do a great job….
This is awesome. Love how Montero’s just one of the guys.
Doreen, that’s true, but it would have been nice to see them having a good time outside the playing field. Chad, I’m just disappointed – not in you, so I hope you don’t take it that way.

Is Jeter at this event?
**********************
If I’m remembering right, I don’t think Jeter was in any of the pictures that were released last year either.
Pokey,
Now, now.
He could at least have used his left hand instead to navigate that video game.
Betsy,
Sure, it would have been nice. It looks like whoever took the pictures was with one bunch of the guys. At least they took these.
Who knows? Maybe there will be more.
Eh, I’m sorry – I suppose I’m coming off as a spoiled brat. Chalk it up to being tired – the quality of the pics is great and they all look like they are having a great time. I wish the team could do this more often.
Doreen, you’re right – I think I’ll get over it, lol.
Maybe Jeter was the one who took the photos
any update on the arod hgh thing
I’ve advocated dumping Garica from the 40 man before because of the injury problems, but since I’ve started to learn more about the kids on the farm, I sure hope he finds a way to stay healthy. Lots of talent and seems like a nice guy too. That won’t keep me from making a “boy in a bubble” joke or two every now and then
I wonder if Jeter is exempt from these bonding times? He wasn’t in last year’s photos either…
that aceves picture is just dieing to be photoshopped

He has been that boy, otherwise he would have seriously pushed the envelope last season.
If you live in the metro area and get a chance, try and get to Trenton for a Garcia start. And try to do it early in the season, if you know what I mean…
Rebecca
good to see you back here…you must be so happy to see Syracuse rated #1
Melky watch:
The Melkman went 1 for 3 today as the Mets beat the Braves 4-2.
Did anyone here catch Braves-Mets and if so, did Heyward play today?
What a monster.
Bronx,
Was Heyward in the lineup?
Good for Leche.
Austin Jackson went 0-2 and Johnny “Nathan Detroit” Damon went 0-1 as the Tigers routed Florida Southern College 13-1.
Bodh, I look at Garcia’s injury history as a carbon copy of Al Leiter. That’s just too good of a talent to give up on, just yet.
NM I found Braves ST GT
Yes, and I believe Heyward got a hit.
Bohdi-
Yes. heyward was in the game.
The announcers were gushing over him.
Didn’t stick around so I don’t know his final Line.
GB7,
I always sit behind the plate for Garcia. Seeing him live is something we really look forward to. You, of all people here, would really appreciate seeing him live. Did he go through Charleston?
He’s also such a cat off the mound. Just a sensational athlete, though apparently made of glass. There’s a universal injustice in there.
For Leiter it was better late than never, but he could have had a super career if he’d been healthy all along.
We’ll see what’s in the cards for this supremely talented righty. Want him to make it so bad.
Heyward was 1-1 with 2 walks and a stolen base.
Thanks Jeers, MTU.
Guess he had himself an impressive day.
The kids on the Braves thread in PSD are raving about him – looks like he drew a couple of walks off a lefty, singled to right, stole third off a great jump.

————————————————————
He was in Charleston in 2005 and 2006, but, I was in Iraq during that time. I did see a couple of his Tampa starts in 2008, though. Impressive stuff. I’d hate to see him get healthy with Boston, Tampa or Toronto,
GB7,
That CB he has shouldn’t even be a legal pitch. And the change isn’t far behind.
Didn’t realize you were in Iraq. God bless you, man. Thought you were “retired” since Nam or something.
Yeah, I’ve lived in terror we’d DFA him and he’d come up Aces somewhere else.
Heyward is 6’5,” weighs 230 and he’s 18 years old… and a millionaire.
Anybody out there having a better day than Jason Heyward?
Apparently he is a very bright kid as well, has it all in perspective, very mature. He could crack that lineup this year.
New post.
Dunn pitched for Braves today it seems. I did not like seeing him AND Coke go.
Dunn pitched 1 inning, and unscored on, but, not because he didn’t try. 1 hit, 1 walk, 0 strikeouts.
Thanks. Still like that arm.
That picture of Ace is hilarious!
