blake,

Some of the conflict arises when a certain type lies in wait and jumps on something, distorts it, and ignores qualifiers the original poster introduced in the first place to define context.

The original comment is essentially ignored and becomes a stage for an arrogant display that deliberately missed the point.

Or the reason there are so many arguments is because the majority of these people you will never see, so it would be much easier to disagree with someone on a message board because you would never say it to their face.

Just a general comment. I think one of the reasons there are so many arguments on blogs and message boards is that you really can't tell the tone in which something is said. Same thing happens with texts and emails and can lead to misinterpretations and miscommunication.

y's guy-

i just had problem with you trying to throw someone under the bus that i thought was totally uncalled for.

now as far as mauer possible having back problems that will affect his career.

that's gotta make a team like the twins think twice if mauer does indeed have back problems .

i didn't know that his recent problems might be chronic.

Thanks Randy, Betsy, Kate etc.. I wasn't trying to start a war on ESPN. It was intended to be a light hearted comment as Randy said and if it came across as whining it wasn't the intent.

Randy:

Didn't call him one. As I said, I'm casting no aspersions. Blake's one of the good ones. Never thought otherwise.

As I read it, Blake and I were discussing Mauer and his potential, albeit unlikely, free agency. Somehow it turned into an ESPN thing. Like Blake, I'm done with it.

Randy, and you're lecturing me. I don't like to be lectured. You can't see it, but I'm stamping my feet and pouting, lol.

Y's Guy, you have the right to state your opinions, but this one comes off as lecturing, so you should expect a negative reaction.
