Joba will be the fifth starter. That's been the plan all along.

The Yankees created the competition for the fifth spot to send a message to Joba. They spent a year building up his innings so they can finally throw away the Joba rules and have him prepare for a 200-inning season. They're not going then turn right back around and put him in the pen, especially since Hughes will be under his own rules for 2010, limited to about 140 innings.

It's Joba's to lose. He won't.

"One can only hope. I would be happy to provide the Jonestown Kool Aid for some so they can do everybody a favor and end it all.

It would be welcome for the blog, and I suspect their families, too."

What the heck?

SJ...you are a complete jerk and a comment like that is really beyond the pale. You aren't the judge, jury and executioner of anyone here.

S.o.S.: no problem, I don't take that kind of vicious betrayal pesonally at all. The betting public has shifted the line from Cal being a 1-point 'dog to being either a pick 'em or a 1-point favorite, but I'd be shocked if Louisville wasn't the majority pick on brackets.

I keep on reading that Cal could give Duke a real tough time but probably won't get past Louisville. We'll see!

Haven't filled out my brackets yet, I'm lagging.

Pete didnt sleep much from what i can recall. If you were up 23 hours of the day, you would probably have the munchies. Unless you were being distracted by a Bruce Springstein concert.
I finish off my goodies staying up to see SNL on saturdays. Then starve myself for days after.

True, m, but that host was often out of line by mocking players that he didn't like, so it was kind of an example of what goes around comes around.

Rich,

lol. No it's not anyone's business what a blog host eats.

Anyway, those were the kind of dumbies who associated the quality of one's work with their diet.

Joba does seem to need extra motivation in his starts. I seem to recall Girardi applying it before Joba's good stretch in July. Some folks need more fo a push than others. The team should keep this in mind. I'm sure they do.
