    Thanks Doreen!

  8. Rich in NJ April 23rd, 2010 at 6:51 pm

If some people enjoy PTL, why should any of us object?

  9. m April 23rd, 2010 at 6:53 pm

  10. Erin April 23rd, 2010 at 6:54 pm

  12. Kevin S. April 23rd, 2010 at 6:56 pm

You know what’s lamer than a guessing game*? People whining about other people enjoying a guessing game.

*I don’t think GTLU is too lame. :P

I just want to tack one win up on the GTLU board. I guess you have to play to win…

  38. m April 23rd, 2010 at 7:20 pm

Technically, Girardi wins everytime. But he’s only credited with a win if he beats the field, right?

  46. GreenBeret7 April 23rd, 2010 at 7:27 pm

    Bottom of the first

    russo infield single

curtis doubles down right field line to score Russo

Nunez pushes a bunt single past the pitcher, Curtis to 3rd

Miranda bounces into fielder’s choice, curtis out at home

Winfree bounces out to pitcher runners advance to 2nd and 3rd

    Montero grounds out to pitcher

Montero was fooled badly on 3 pitches.

    1-0 Scranton

  47. Nick in SF April 23rd, 2010 at 7:27 pm

    Yes, thank you Doreen!

It’s like the Prague Spring right now… I just hope the tanks don’t roll in.

  48. m April 23rd, 2010 at 7:27 pm

Alex Gonzalez continuing to produce for Toronto. Great pickup. So, Boston & Toronto essentially swapped SS? Guffaw.

3-0 Toronto over TB. Inning’s still not over for Garza.

Mitchell was wild. 1 inning, 0 hits, 1 run, 3 walks, 1 strikeout

    trenton down in order

    Thanks, CR9. Much appreciated.

    Noreaster -

You’ve played twice. You just have to pick a day when you know for sure it’s gonna be the regular lineup!

    LGY -

When you say a lineup getting caught up in the filter, do you mean, we the closing time and the lineup cross in cyberspace? If it’s close in time, I’ll count it.

Of course, if Girardi submits a really wack lineup like he did the other day, and the late lineup just happens to match that one, I’d really have to question that, wouldn’t I?

  55. m April 23rd, 2010 at 7:31 pm

Garza falling apart. 4-0, 9 batters, closing in on 40 pitches.

  56. GreenBeret7 April 23rd, 2010 at 7:31 pm

Tampa drops a 6 spot on Daytona in the top of the 1st. Pirela with a 2 run single, mesa with an RBI single

  62. GreenBeret7 April 23rd, 2010 at 7:36 pm

Nova in the top of the 2nd inning

    strikeout

deep fly to right center was caught but a collision between Curtis and winfree. Winfree shook up but stays in the game

  63. David in Cal April 23rd, 2010 at 7:39 pm

Girardi never can win GTLU. In order to win, one must post his lineup guess before Girardi posts the official lineup. For Girardi to win, he would have to post the lineup before he posts the lineup — a logical immposibility. :)

  64. GreenBeret7 April 23rd, 2010 at 7:39 pm

Charleston leads 2 -0 in the second inning

    Hall is perfect so far

    Higashioka single run scored

  65. CR9 April 23rd, 2010 at 7:45 pm

David Ortiz just popped up a ball over the monster in LeftCenter.

Leave it to the Orioles to try and help Papi get out of his slump.

bottom of the 2nd for scranton

    Weber lines out to left

    Huffman line single to right

    Corona bounces into force out

    Russo line single to left

Curtis lines a double off of center field fence, 2 RBI

Nunez grounder to deep short. Curtis pulls a rock and gets thrown out at 3rd

    3-0 scranton after 2 innings

  72. CR9 April 23rd, 2010 at 7:50 pm

Rather than running to first base.

top of the third, Nova gives up a single, walks a batter and another single to score a run.

The play was a pitcher to first to home double play with Montero completely blocking off the plate. Get bowled over and held the ball. It was Hoover, a 220 pound catcher that tried running Montero over. Hoover’s a 34 year old minor league veteran

    3-1 scranton

They are complaining about a cheap strike 2 to Drew! Remy and Orsillo. They show the Amica and it confirms it was a ball, and they both incredulously laugh.

When Amica confirms their pitchers receiving cheap strike calls all the time, they laugh like it’s funny.
