Start time: 8 p.m. (tarp is off)

The Yankees just announced a new scheduled start time of 8 p.m. Given the two teams that are playing, I’m officially giving myself a two percent chance of getting home before 2 a.m.

UPDATE, 7:33 p.m.: CC Sabathia just walked to the bullpen with Dave Eiland. Seems to be a good sign.

UPDATE, 7:40 p.m.: The tarp is off and they’re working on the infield.

Anyone have a clue if you had seats tonight and they start it up late. Do they give you anything for unused tickets? Probably next to nothing if I had to guess.

Would love to see C.C. go 8 strong and then bring Mo in for the save.

Better than the dinner menu at Morton’s

2% chance? The Jazz (Knicks pick) has a 2% chance of winning the NBA lottery tonite at 8pm. If they win, Chad u have a chance!

“Given the two teams that are playing, I’m officially giving myself a two percent chance of getting home before 2 a.m.”

I’ll probably watch the Magic-Celtics game and tune in, it probably will be in the 5th inning by then :)

  19. m May 18th, 2010 at 7:22 pm

Which has a better chance of starting first?

    Sox/Yankees or Celtics/Magic?

  20. Pat M. May 18th, 2010 at 7:22 pm

Sox have to travel to Minneapolis after the game, now that’s a red eye

  21. pat May 18th, 2010 at 7:23 pm

    Doreen

I wouldn’t have directed you to a Starbuck’s that was unsafe for you or your car.

You’re sitting between a Ritz Carlton and a Trump Condo Complex.

  22. MTU (aka GBURL) May 18th, 2010 at 7:23 pm

A little music appropriate for tonite’s game (apologies for the length) :

    “Slip slidin’ away
    Slip slidin’ away
You know the nearer your destination
The more you’re slip slidin’ away

    I know a man
He came from my home town
He wore his passion for his woman
    Like a thorny crown
    He said Dolores
    I live in fear
My love for you’s so overpowering
I’m afraid that I will disappear

    Slip slidin’ away
    Slip slidin’ away
You know the nearer your destination
The more you’re slip slidin’ away

    I know a woman
    Became a wife
These are the very words she uses
    To describe her life
    She said a good day
    Ain’t got no rain
She said a bad day’s when I lie in bed
And think of things that might have been

    Slip slidin’ away
    Slip slidin’ away
You know the nearer your destination
The more you’re slip slidin’ away

    And I know a fa-ther
    Who had a son
He longed to tell him all the reasons
    For the things he’d done
    He came a long way
    Just to explain
He kissed his boy as he lay sleeping
Then he turned around and headed home again

    Slip slidin’ away
    Slip slidin’ away
You know the nearer your destination
The more you’re slip slidin’ away

    God only knows
    God makes his plan
    The information’s unavailable
    To the mortal man
    We’re working our jobs
    Collect our pay
Believe we’re gliding down the highway
When in fact we’re slip slidin’ away

    Slip slidin’ away
    Slip slidin’ away
You know the nearer your destination
The more you’re slip slidin’ away

    Slip slidin’ away
You know the nearer your destination
The more you’re slip slidin’ away
    Mmm…”

    :)

  23. MTU (aka GBURL) May 18th, 2010 at 7:27 pm

    Or this one:

“Raindrops keep fallin’ on my head
And just like the guy whose feet are too big for his bed
    Nothin’ seems to fit
Those raindrops are fallin’ on my head, they keep fallin’

So I just did me some talkin’ to the sun
And I said I didn’t like the way he got things done
    Sleepin’ on the job
Those raindrops are fallin’ on my head, they keep fallin’

But there’s one thing I know
The blues they send to meet me won’t defeat me
It won’t be long till happiness steps up to greet me

Raindrops keep fallin’ on my head
But that doesn’t mean my eyes will soon be turnin’ red
    Cryin’s not for me
‘Cause I’m never gonna stop the rain by complainin’
    Because I’m free
    Nothin’s worryin’ me

    [trumpet]

It won’t be long till happiness steps up to greet me

Raindrops keep fallin’ on my head
But that doesn’t mean my eyes will soon be turnin’ red
    Cryin’s not for me
‘Cause I’m never gonna stop the rain by complainin’
    Because I’m free
    Nothin’s worryin’ me

Somebody got hit by a subway on my line when I was coming home from Fri nights game. Took me a couple of extra hours to get home.

The nerve of those people who are inconsiderate enough to get hit by a subway.

will the Nets get the golden ticket?

    Doreen or Erica,

Doreen are you still in White Plains? If so, are you OK there. Erica, was Doreen able to leave.
Downtown WP at night is a bit iffy.

I am now running on reserve battery power and have to decide whether to shut down altogether or change my plum seat in order to plug in.

Think I’m going to pack up .

    White Plains = District B13?

  31. SAS May 18th, 2010 at 7:41 pm

White Plains grows to about 250,000 during the day or that’s what I remember, but is 50,000 at night. Where we lived one would never know just how big White Plains got….just a bedroom community.

    Glad you found your key.

I told you the other night we went into the City to see our kids, and when my husband unlocked the car, I realized someone had smashed the passenger window and took the GPS and nothing else. It was rainy cold and nasty like tonight. My son helped make the car drivable. The police never showed up.

Not that I care if the RedSox fall off the face of the earth – but why did the Rays get a day game on getaway day to play the Yankees in NY and the Redsox are forced to play a night game on getaway day to minnesota?

I guess MLB realizes that the Rays are the only threat to the Yankees and are making it easy for them to get to NY at a decent time to rest up…

Yes. Born and raised in Westchester and boomeranged back as an adult.
