    Cervelli again? Woah.

  2. Nick in SF May 26th, 2010 at 6:39 pm

Thank you Swisher batting 2nd! I asked for it and I got it!

    (don’t tell randy :( )

  3. Fake SJ May 26th, 2010 at 6:40 pm

This lineup is better than the one we trotted out this afternoon.

  4. CR9 May 26th, 2010 at 6:40 pm

6:26 from last thread was not me!

    Nice game to win!

Mo looking a bit a rusty, but came through!

  5. MT May 26th, 2010 at 6:40 pm

Geesh, can’t even lurk after a win. I think that three out of every four posters are trolls. Do something about it! Who’s decision is this to make? At this point, it’s a poor reflection on the writing and tech staff. Stand up for yourselves. You lost your blog!

  6. H May 26th, 2010 at 6:40 pm

austin jackson’s batting average went up after the game, again.

  7. Sey May 26th, 2010 at 6:40 pm

Why does Girardi’s hair change colors every day?

One day it is gray, next day it is black, next day he is bald, today his hair is white like a ghost.

  8. trisha - Yanks on the way to 28! May 26th, 2010 at 6:41 pm

Are we sure Mo can’t pitch again tonight?

    CR9 ain’t no troll

How would a troll hate everything Boston, including people like Dropkick Murphy and Dane Cook, who are not affiliated to sports?

    +++++++++++++++++++

I guess we solve the mystery.

    Fake SJ = CR9

  10. GreenBeret7 May 26th, 2010 at 6:42 pm

This is the most inconsistant Rivera’s ever had as far as getting into games. He just hasn’t been in that many and it’s 2 months into the season and he barely pitched during ST. That’s all that’s wrong with Rivera.

  11. I Collect Brett Gardner Cards May 26th, 2010 at 6:42 pm

for all the people wanting swishie in the 2 spot, you got it.
now if he goes 0-4 you should be calling for his head, as Gardy got pummeled for hitting close to 300 in that spot mostly.

  12. KWAN May 26th, 2010 at 6:43 pm

MO threw 14 pitches, 6 for strikes.

Chad, call the Ellias Sports Bureau to ask when is the last time he had a negative strike-ball ratio in a save.

    And Detroit still lost.

    And for heaven sake,

    GO RAYS!!!!!

I am not worried bout MoMo
Hes Mo after all, which is basically all that needs to be said.
He has so much goodwill in the bank
It’d also be different if he was stinking it up and the yankees were a sub 500 team.

  17. Patrick May 26th, 2010 at 6:45 pm

    Pretty good lineup I guess

  18. CR9 May 26th, 2010 at 6:45 pm

    # Fake SJ May 26th, 2010 at 6:38 pm

Marte or Mitre depending on how the lineup goes.

If M&M are due up in the 8th, Marte gets them, Mitre closes it out.

    ____

I guess we solve the mystery

    Fake SJ = Not CR9

I wouldnt put Mitre in to close a game out if he were the last man on the planet.

Dont get me wrong, I love Mitre, and think he can be quite valuable, but I wouldnt use him to close out a game in a save situation. EVER!

    LOLOL
yea i guess we can tell when hes upset with something
Black Hair: things are good, yanks won
    Grey: Tex went 0-5 with 3 ks a pop-up and a GIDP
White: He got up late and forgot to put in the ‘Just For Managers’

  20. Block May 26th, 2010 at 6:47 pm

    CR9,

But if Mitre pitches the 9th, you can see his beautiful toosh ;)

  21. H May 26th, 2010 at 6:49 pm

CR9, I assume you’re one of “those” guys who has been waiting in line for days/months in order to be the first to see “Sex and the City 2?”

Correct me if I’m wrong on those two counts.

  22. I Collect Brett Gardner Cards May 26th, 2010 at 6:50 pm

    block…
ur not the guy who used to say everyone was HOT? r u? lol

  23. pat May 26th, 2010 at 6:50 pm

BloggingBombers Girardi did a bit of a 180 on the reliever thing, saying he would see how they feel before deciding who will/won’t pitch in the night game.

  24. randy l. May 26th, 2010 at 6:50 pm

“Thank you Swisher batting 2nd! I asked for it and I got it!

    (don’t tell randy) ”

    nick in sf-

i never thought girardi would ever go in a small ball direction. he knows what the management upstairs would think about that. he wouldn’t have a job for long.

but here’s the deal, if the yankees aren’t going to run why have guys who can. i don’t understand getting guys like gardner and granderson if they are going to play station to station baseball.

gardner at the bottom of the order can run when jeter and swisher is up, but that’s it.

i just don’t think the players match the system. like CB said last winter, i know think they should have signed holliday and bumped gardner to the fourth outfielder.

this is not going to be a young athletic team in other words. having swisher in the two hole isn’t young and it’s not athletic.

  25. MTU (aka GBURL) May 26th, 2010 at 6:51 pm

I’m pulling for another Yankee win, and another Rays loss.

That will put us just 3.5 games back with Cleveland looming.

“From a tiny spark a mighty flame doth follow”.

    :)

Block, Excellent point, but still not good enough a reason!

H, No. I’ve been meaning to watch the Sex and the City series and the movie(s) for a while, but have yet to pick up the series on DVD!

  27. Jon May 26th, 2010 at 6:52 pm

Venus Williams is such a disgrace to tennis and sports.

  28. steveoh May 26th, 2010 at 6:52 pm

Why want the Rays to win? They are way ahead in the division. They need to be brought down to the pack. I want them to lose, even if it’s Boston beating them.

  29. champ809 May 26th, 2010 at 6:53 pm

I’m creeping up the list Doreen!!!!

Or damn! did I have Gardy 8th and Russo 9th?

I thought better about it and it cost me! drats!

  30. CR9 May 26th, 2010 at 6:53 pm

Venus is a disgrace because she is a designer and wanted to show off her own line, in front of the French, who are a fashion-driven people?

    Grow up!

  31. ac1 May 26th, 2010 at 6:54 pm

best lineup i have seen in weeks until grandy returns this weekend.

  32. Francis May 26th, 2010 at 6:54 pm

Yanks live buy the HR dye buy the HR

Today, their only offense was a HR and they didn’t even bother to tack on after that.

Did they even get a baserunner on aside from the Jeter HR today?

Girardi’s inability to play small ball could have cost us. That ball Hardy hit is out in any other ballpark and we would have lost the game on a walkoff HR because Girardi refused to put the runners in motion and manufacture runs.

  33. CR9 May 26th, 2010 at 6:54 pm

The French are more open and liberal, and open to all sorts of things, as opposed to idiots here who are so “Oh My God, it gives the illusion of bare skin. How ever will we live”

  34. 7789 May 26th, 2010 at 6:54 pm

The only reliever I bet he is talking about is Mariano. Mo threw only 14 pitches. No way he will use Robertson and Chamberlain.

This is the yanks best lineup for facing a lefty pitcher. Nice to see Russo move ahead of Winn in playing time.

  35. MTU (aka GBURL) May 26th, 2010 at 6:55 pm

    Cloaking device “on”.

    Shields up.

Photon torpedoes locked on “trool” targets.

    Phasers armed and ready.

    Enjoy the game.

    I lurk only. :)

Thank You Joe Gardner has been moved, He and Teixeira were easy back to back outs.

  37. Jerkface May 26th, 2010 at 6:55 pm

this is not going to be a young athletic team in other words. having swisher in the two hole isn’t young and it’s not athletic.

Batting order determines how young and athletic the team is? Watch out!

The players are running as much as they did last year. Why do you keep ignoring that?

  38. Jerkface May 26th, 2010 at 6:56 pm

i don’t understand getting guys like gardner and granderson if they are going to play station to station baseball.

They stole home twice with those guys *this season* , what are you talking about

  39. Jon May 26th, 2010 at 6:56 pm

Venus Williams is a disgrace because she show up at the tennis court like a porn star.

  40. ac1 May 26th, 2010 at 6:56 pm

gardner did NOT bat .300 in the 2 Hole. His average has dropped 40 points since he moved up more consistently (since NJ went down).

  41. 7789 May 26th, 2010 at 6:57 pm

Gardner had a nice game at the plate he had a hit and a walk in 4 at bats.

  42. CR9 May 26th, 2010 at 6:58 pm

    Jon

    You’re wrong.

Venus is a fashion designer. She wore her own line in front of the French, because they are appreciative of fashion and more open and liberal than Americans.

  43. I Collect Brett Gardner Cards May 26th, 2010 at 6:58 pm

    easy out GGBG?
hes hitting close to 300 for the year and got on base twice in the First game of the series.
    come on now

  44. Tom in N.J. May 26th, 2010 at 6:58 pm

This place is bananas. It almost seems like one poster talking to himself.

Anyway, nice win today (yesterday?) .

  46. ac1 May 26th, 2010 at 6:59 pm

why does espn have tennis on espn2 when they say the yanks are on at 7?

  47. I Collect Brett Gardner Cards May 26th, 2010 at 6:59 pm

gady will be back in the 2 spot soon enough, relax peeps.

Bad puns, fashion porn, domestic handwringing, contrived plot points, idiotic dialogue and offensive stereotypes. What’s not to loathe?

    ————————-

I agree they have more speed this year with Gardner playing everyday and Granderson in the outfield. I think they are little more balanced this year than last when everyone is healthy.

  51. champ809 May 26th, 2010 at 7:02 pm

    Randy

Swish is what 28-29 that’s younger than before and really what is the big difference batting Gardy 9th- where I prefer him as opposed to 2nd?

In fact one could argue that this is the perfect way to use these players as you’re best most accomplished hitters lead you out of the gate in terms of Jeet,Swish,Tex,ARod,Cano and Posada 1st time around the order and then as the order turns over your young, speedy, little ball players who are the Velli,Russo,Gardner portion of the roster now become table setters for those guys i.e. Velli-7 Russo-8 Gardy-9 setting the table for Jeet, Swish-work the count high obp in front of Tex, ARod and Robbie etc…

  52. m May 26th, 2010 at 7:02 pm

I agree, Joba & D-Rob are wasted. Rivera warmed up and should be ready tonight. :)

Though, it’d be better for Rivera if he’s not used tonight.

  53. Sharkdaddy May 26th, 2010 at 7:04 pm

How long is Tex going to hit in the #3 spot?

He is killing the team with non-productive outs with runners on. Do something to wake him up cause its almost June & he is barely hitting .200.

    Drop him to 5th!!!

  54. Jimmy Z May 26th, 2010 at 9:00 pm

Dont worry Yanks will be fine. Look at the Rays about to get swept by Boston who people wrote off.

Every team has a bad patch over the the year. Boston and Tb included.

Sorry to digress but for any Fantasy gurus out there. Would you give up Sandoval and Reyes for David Wright and Broxton?? i am good on SB and Avg. I need saves and power.

    Thanks. Sorry for the intrusion.
