Just when it seemed Javier Vazquez had turned a corner, the Yankees starter struggled again in the series finale against the Twins. Vazquez gave up five runs through 5.2 innings — and he nearly gave up a lot more — as the Yankees lost 8-2. It was still a series win for the Yankees, but the offense has now gone six straight games without scoring more than four runs. Jason Kubel homered twice for the Twins, including a nail-in-the-coffin three-run shot off Chad Gaudin in the seventh.
