I started watching tonight’s game in the seventh inning. Pretty good timing. Javier Vazquez worked out of a jam, the Yankees took advantage of an error (I thought it was more on the first baseman than the third baseman) and Mariano Rivera closed a 3-1 win against the Orioles. Three good things for the Yankees: 1. Vazquez had another very good start. 2. Joba Chamberlain bounced back nicely. 3. Curtis Granderson — who absolutely will never hit lefties and was thus a terrible addition — keeps hitting lefties, including a home run tonight. One bad thing: Mark Teixeira is little banged up after fouling a ball off his foot.
