Update, 7:30: Milton Bradley hit that 75 mph 0-2 mistake a long way, to the retired number display beyond the fence in right-center, off Javier Vazquez. So it’s 1-0 here in the second.

Update, 7:47: Franklin Gutierrez checked out of the game in the top of the second inning with an upset stomach. Ryan Langerhans replaced him in the lineup but took over in left with Michael Saunders moving to center. Saunders’ homer here in the third made it 2-0.

Update, 7:54: The Mariners are second-to-last in the league in hitting, but you couldn’t tell by this series so far. They have three runs and five hits with two outs in the third after putting up seven runs and 12 hits yesterday.

Update, 8:02: Felix Hernandez looks tough, no hits allowed through three.

Update, 8:11: Finally, a Yankees hit. Mark Teixeira’s double leading off the fourth here extended his hitting streak to 11 games.

Update, 8:32: There are two outs and two on in the Seattle fifth. Chad Gaudin is warming.

Update, 8:40: Big pitch by Vazquez to fan Ryan Langerhans with the bases loaded, 89 mph fastball. He’s up near 100 pitches now.

Update, 8:42: Second baseman Chone Figgins just lost a couple of popups up there. Colin Curtis had a gift double on the first one and Francisco Cervelli’s ball was caught by Ichiro in right. Hernandez just made a nice play on a comebacker by Jeter to end the inning. The Yankees’ best hope against Hernandez might be hitting popups toward Figgins.

Update, 8:58: Vazquez is done – six innings, three runs, six hits — a quality start by definition, although he didn’t seem that sharp. And yet he fanned eight and walked only two. He threw 113 pitches, 71 for strikes. Damaso  Marte is in.

Update, 9:10: Marte didn’t do his job to keep it close, surrendering that two-run homer to Russell Branyan in the seventh. Chad Gaudin is in.

Update, 9:53: It’s over, 7-0 Mariners. Quite a masterpiece by King Felix. A two-hitter with 11 strikeouts.
