Thames one day away

Marcus Thames is scheduled to play nine innings in the field today for Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. If that goes well, Joe Girardi announced, Thames could rejoin the Yankees as early as tomorrow.

I also have to assume we’ll have a Yankees lineup sometime before 1 pm, but Girardi said he doesn’t have one yet because he hasn’t been able to check with all of his players to make sure everyone feels OK after last night’s 11-inning game.

Good. He will turn our season around.

Last I looked, Yankees still are in 1st. Their lineup still top 3 in baseball and have very good starting pitching (though the pen is garbage).

They are in what every team goes through during a long season, a grinding period. They’ll pull through.

Boston has been very tough this year, but this rash of injury can really hurt them. Time will tell.

One thing baseball has shown me as a fan, is you can’t get too high or too low during streaks. When your team is playing .600+ baseball into July, things are pretty good.

    Good morning.

Being level headed does not make someone a Pollyanna no more than being high strung makes someone a bad fan. Taken to the extreme, both are really annoying though.

Fingers crossed that all the bats and arms got a good nights rest and show up raring to go today.

No awards, rings or parades for being in first on July 3 so no matter the result try to keep it in perspective though.

You are no Pollyanna. Just someone who is smart enough to realize that experience is about how much you have learned and how much you still don’t know. I want to be you when I grow up.

Just don’t play him in the field.
