RIP
R.I.P.
Not having everyone love you is a good thing.
Sometimes hard decisions have to be made.
Everyone loving everyone = nothing gets done.
Thanks BOSS. RIP
Yankees Forever.
Andy looked great in the ASG. His diving were diving, and he looked as good as ever.
The one AB that stood out to me was Ichiro vs. Josh Johnson.
Ichiro is a tremendous contact hitter, but Johnson made him look like a befuddled little leaguer. Ichirio missed strike 3 by at least 2′. I replayed it twice in disbelief.
“diving were diving” s/b “pitches were diving”
Interesting stuff from Cash today……….I didn’t want to do the Santana deal at the time because I felt the age gap was too big and that Phil had very good potential. I also felt that Santana didn’t guarantee the team anything – not his fault as no player can ever guarantee a team winning a title – so why give up our best pitching prospect? As it turns out, the 2008 team was not that good, so even Santana at his best wouldn’t have helped that much. The fact is, he’s doing fine now, so I won’t criticize him…….he’s still a terriifc pitcher.
question:
Does anyone know if either of the minor league All star games are being televised, and if yes, what stations are they on ?
fwiw,
I don’t know if I’ve ever seen Ichiro look that bad in an AB….the shadows probably contributed somewhat but still very impressive from JJ…he’s great.
MTU,
I’m pretty sure the AAA game is on Mlb network
blake-
Thanks. Unfortunately, I don’t get that one.
Are any of our guys playing ?
I thought Montero and Nunez were but I’m not sure
Blake-
I guess I’ll have to resort to a movie then. Have you seen “The Book of Eli” with Denzel Washington ?
Watched a great flick the other night: “The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo”
Highly recommended.
(Mystery movie w/some sadistic twists)
Nunez is the starting SS, Montero the backup C, and Alby is on the roster as well.
Game is on MLB Network and Milb.tv (I thought I remember you saying you bought that MTU?)
Alby is listed as the top RP on the roster.
Montero, Nunez, and Albaladejo are the Yankees selected for the AAA All Star game tonight at 7:00 on MLB.
Good thing he didn’t see Hughes and Girardi blow his series home field advantage and Arod beg out of the game!
LGY-
I don’t have it. But I think I’m gonna spring for it next season. Even though we live well our budget is pretty tight.
I’ll rely on you, Blake and GB to provide up to minute reporting and commentary.
I’d be especially curious to hear opinions on Nunez’s fielding.
I might follow part of it on the MiLB scoreboard, or gameday.
Tommorrow we get to watch Texas pound the Sox.
The Atlanta Braves are the 1st to deal as the trading deadline of 7/31 heats up.

I read that book. Haven’t seen the movie yet-I’m anxious to see it!

Cliff Lee.
Wasn’t Yunel Escobar supposed to be like a really good player a couple of years ago?
MTU,
Yea you need to spring for MLB network if you can…its a good channel.
I haven’t seen the book of Eli though I’ve wanted to…don’t get to many movies these days….though I did get dragged to twilight this past weekend….my wife was gawking at that 18 year old guy who turns into a werewolf….I told that if she was in that movie then she would turn into a cougar
Escobar was a good prospect but he’s had attitude and underperformance issues for awhile now…this trade tells me that really want to win this year and are tired of waiting/dealing with Escobar.
New Post: Albaladejo opening eyes in Scranton/Wilkes-Barre
Blake-
Our stupid cable company does not offer MLB Network. I think it would have to come off of satellite out this way. I’d love to have it as I really do not like ESPN in general.
I’ll probably just go with MiLB TV next season. That way I can become a total expert on the Minors like GB.
If she’s looking at those 18 year olds and has wandering eyes go to a local farmer and get a set of “Blinders” for her (Just kidding).
Let me know what you think of Nunez and Montero if I happen to be around.
By the way, I think twilight is written by a Utah gal wasn’t it ? It’s a big craze out this way.
Warewolves and Polygamists. No wonder no one wants to come here.
MTU,
Yea I think it is just part of our cable…ill keep you posted of what I get to watch of it.
“[Tomorrow] we get to watch Texas pound the Sox.”
Somehow I doubt the Rangers can do much against those mighty, resilient S*x.
Escobar was supposed to be on the same tier as a Ramirez from the Marlins but he has underperformed and been a bit of a loafer…. I dont think Cox thought of him as highly as the front office did.
Unbelievable. Not one charity actually local to the Bronx. For shame.
