GB7 - you are 100% correct. Mel was a tremendous pitcher. He'd get CC money, or close to it, if were in his prime today. Many younger fans don't realize the quality of the players in past generations, too bad.

goof giuseppe, before andy had a problem physically, he had already given up 3 runs with 1 out. he would have needed 5 two-thirds innings of shutout baseball to have a quality start…while very possible, not likely… you forgot that part.

-----------

This is the last post I'm going to waste my time on trash like you so I'll let the rest of the board decide who the goof is between you and me.

Comet, Stottlemyer gets overlooked by everybody except by those that actually saw him. Career ERA under 3, 3 20 win seasons with some of the worst Yankee teams in history, 40 complete game shutouts, 9 straight seasons of 250 innings plus....and that big bat (7 career homers), great fielder. How many rookie pitchers with 13 career starts get a 2nd game WS start? If he was doing that in this era, he'd be getting $20 Mil a year. As classy a pitcher as you'll ever see. The only thing he didn't rack up was strikeouts. Of course, he didn't walk anybody, either.

meanwhile, 3 runs given up only 1 out into the game, the goof that goes by a handle of an even bigger goof – giuseppe – was nowhere to be found…

-------------

U-huh, jerkoff.

I never post when the action is going on. Never. I can count on one hand how many times I've posted this season during the action.

This place becomes a sewer. And your stupidity is a great example why.

Congratulations.

How great is it to be a Yankees fan ..... The best record in MLB, taking 2 of 3 from the team behind you, and the Red Sox lose 3 out of 4 to the Rangers. Life is good, let's enjoy every minute.

It wouldn't be a total surprise if Chamberlain was dealt by the end of the month as part of a package.
What we're seeing is as good as he'll ever get. A 95 + MPH fastball is of little value unless it can be located. Stubborn and doing the same things doesn't help his cause.
