Yankees pitch well and hit well to beat Cleveland

When he’s been good, A.J. Burnett has been outstanding. He’s made seven starts without allowing an earned run this season, the most in the American League, and he did it again tonight in an 8-0 win against Cleveland. Behind him, the Yankees scored all eight runs in the first four innings. Five of those runs were scored by the bottom third of the order. Alex Rodriguez played his part with two hits and an RBI, but he made the last out in two of the first three innings and — obviously — did not hit home run No. 600.

Sergio got a little shaky there but he bounced back to get those last three outs. Good job. He looked pretty good today.

AJ liked the google chrome update, apparently.

    Chad-

For a few minutes there, I really thought your 6th inning prediction was going to happen. I would have asked you to select lottery numbers for me.

    Better luck next time!

Burnett should pie himself. Risk of injury less.

Goodnight all. Tomorrow another day to wrangle over whether Joba should go, and for whom!!

AJ is a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma.

Only bad thing about this game is that Jeter did not get an invitation to the party. Theres always one who misses out. lol

    Angel,

I am having the same problem with Chrome.

But I just thought it was because I was trying to post that Joba adopted Clemens icy hot routine and that’s why he looks so uncomfortable and sweaty on the mound ;)

  9. Angel July 28th, 2010 at 11:12 pm

The comments section seems to get just as many comments as it did prior to registration. That’s a good thing. :-)

    Thanks Erica!

LOL LGY! Haha.. I thought I was getting hit by the filter too. I think its just a Google Chrome incompatibility. I didn’t think of that when I was trying to post and being baffled cause they didn’t show up. Using IE (haven’t tried Mozilla) is a small sacrifice to make to be able to post here.

  11. Cashmoney July 28th, 2010 at 11:15 pm

@angel, no problem using Chrome here. Good Night everyone!

  12. Angel July 28th, 2010 at 11:16 pm

I am thinking it only started when the registration came in, so Im more than happy to use IE in order to keep registration on here. Its nice to know that the LGY I’m talking to is going to be the real one.

    Angel,

Google Chrome has been working all day for me. Hopefully it is just a temporary glitch.

Google Chrome isn’t working for me.

  17. Angel July 28th, 2010 at 11:20 pm

I hope so, LGY. I really prefer that as a browser. Could be my settings on it too. I have the most current version.

Anyways… good win by the Yankees tonight. I hope Moseley can keep them in the game for a series win tomorrow night.

    LOL Mets fail

Joba is one of the best in the league at keeping inherited runners from scoring. He has stranded 18 of 22; 7th best in the league.

Watching the Cards broadcast, in the 11th inning I think Pujols hardly ran out a potential double play ball. he actually almost stopped 3 feet from the bag. Castillo double clutched, threw a looper which was in the dirt and still almost got him. The cards announcers were really criticizing him which i hadn’t seen before. i wonder if he’s hurt or if he’s trying to just bide his time in st. louis. i know i wouldn’t want him for the money he will get.

And the 4th WORST reliever at keeping his own runners from scoring.

Hes hurt. Pujols has been grabbing his side the whole series.

    “LOL Mets fail”

I don’t want the Mets to “fail” too much because it makes it more likely that they will make changes, which could turn out to be positive.

The worst thing in sports is to be perpetually mediocre.

That’s what I wish for them.

Heard this: The reason why the Yankees have never traded Kei Igawa is because it would cost them a major chunk of luxury tax.

Other than waiting for a fire sale on saturday, there’s not much out there. The asking price isn’t high, it’s unrealistic. There’s a fair offer on the table for Downs but only time will tell. Don’t count on it.
