Kansas City doesn’t need financial relief. They are one of the most profitable franchises in baseball.

****************

How do they get revenue?

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Indirectly? From Yankee fans!

Vinny, unless Texas brings in somebody from the farm, other teams will hold them up for help. My guess is that their cheapest option would be Willie Bloomquist, who would make a pretty good utility player for NYYs.

The Yankees can make do at DH with a combo of Curtis / Thames.

Albaladejo and Nova are a phone call away at AAA.

No sense in overpaying for Dunn, Downs, or Lilly.

bret,

The Royals have one of the most successful regional sports network in the country. They also draw well, have an above average local radio deal and solid sponsorship deals.

Add in the revenue sharing money they receive and they are a very profitable franchise.

Captain Clutch July 29th, 2010 at 3:36 pm
I don’t understand why the Astros are including so much money. In these deals you usually hear the better the prospects are the more money that will be included but these don’t seem like big time prospects. Happ isn’t unless the other 2 guys are. $15m isn’t that much money for Oswalt if the Phillies want him they should pay that. Now they only have to pay him $5m next year? That’s crazy, the Astros are stupid to send all of that money

Everything in Texas is bigger.....and dumber

"Texas just took a hit in their infield and in their line-up. Ian Kinsler goes on the DL with a groin strain"

sad news. Texas has become one of my favorite teams this year. Namely, any team which can beat down the Angels
