if the ‘Stros are kicking in that kinda cash the Singleton better be in the deal cuz Happ is not enough to headline a deal for Oswalt salary dump or no salary dump…

On another note Jack Z has brass ones…..The Giants called up and said they were interested in Aardsma and Jack offered Aardsma with Jose Lopez for Pablo Sandoval! I wouldn’t even consider that in a fantasy trade! imagine…

The beauty of this team is that at times almost anyone at some point in time can help to carry the team or pick other guys up. Jeter has hit at .236 since 6/1. Cano at .258 since 6/11. Gardner .252 since 6/15. But just as they were carrying the club earlier in the year when Granderson and Teixeira were struggling, they are now lagging a bit and being picked up by guys who struggled earlier.

What does it matter what Oswalt did 5, 6, 7, etc. years ago?

All that matters is who he is now and what he will do in the future.

CC and Halladay are Aces because of the combination of their low ERA and the huge number of innings they pitch.

Oswalt is not that guy anymore and has not been for some time now.

And this “decline” has happened in one of the worst divisions in baseball and with a pitcher as part of the lineup he is facing.
