AL...

Kerry Wood >>>>>>>> Chan Ho Park at no significant additional cost.

If I recall, Wood's ERA was elevated by one abysmal performance early on where he gave up multiple runs (don't remember how many, though) in 1/3 inning. Even 2 runs would = 54 ERA for that outing. And I don't believe he's pitched that many innings this year either.

If still in doubt, see paragraph 1 ;-)

Maybe Posada’s out today due to pitching/hitting matchups.

Berkman hitting second isn’t bad, putting Swish in back of Cano seems to give some protection to Cano.

I am really irritated by hearing MLB Network saying over and over that the rich get richer. Not for anything, but every one of them have been paid very well over their careers, they are what most people would call rich, yet they got contracts to talk on TV. That is every bit a case of the “rich getting richer”. What hypocrites."

+++++++++++++++++

You actually pay attention to what those guys have to say

I pay them no mind

Nothing they say, Nothing, is going to stop the Yankees from trying to succeed

HATERS will only be happy when the Yankees are the New York Mets in performance.

Too bad for them they'll be waiting a long time for that pipe dream of theirs.

Kerry Wood a bridge to Mo? How does getting a pitcher with an ERA of 6.30, 32 men on base in 20 innings going to get that done better than Joba. Did Cash trade for the current Kerry Wood, while looking at his 2007 numbers. To me that's no different than putting Joba out there, and expecting him to perform like it's 2007.

BryanHoch Yankees have designated Chan Ho Park for assignment; optioned Colin Curtis & Juan Miranda to AAA"

++++++++++++++++

Took long enough for one of those stiffs to go, Park was good against righties

Can't get lefties out worth a darn though.

Next up is Gaudin on the hit list when Aceves is back

What did we learn these past few days?

We learned that Hal is just like his dad.

If you present a good argument to add payroll and go for it, he will do it.

To do so though, you have to make a good business decision.

To add these three players for only 5 million in payroll and trading a few non-prospects is a good enough business decision to have ownership sign off on adding more to the payroll.

Hal isn't cheap. He's VERY smart and he has learned the baseball business quickly.

Just because you are the Yankees doesn't mean you can't have teams kick in money to get rid of players. Cash established the precedent last year in the Hinske deal.

That was only 400K. However, it set the stage for teams to kick in 6 million dollars in the Wood and Berkman deals.

Solid work by Cash.

The Yankees are a better team today than they were yesterday.
